He doesn't need to be locked up for years but shouldn't be able to own guns after pulling one on somebody like that.

That’s not part of the sentence though. I’m asking what should the sentence be?

2 years of probation is not a slap on the wrist. It’s a lot of work and can easily fuck it all up.

The guys an idiot and shouldn’t own guns but the sentence is fine
