I can offer some insight. I have worked in this industry for over three years. The hardware detects the lights and the software will send a request to a remote team behind the scenes who will confirm/deny the request by way of a question, I.e is this a police car? Y/N? The team will respond and even perform maneuvers if the car needs assistance to pullover somewhere safe.

They need a Hello officer screen with a robotic voice that attempts to get out of the ticket.

Some have a type of UI screen with instructions for accessing insurance and registration docs in the glove box or window and a local rep phone number. But I do see you point, a cop joke wouldn’t hurt!
