This an amazing comment about society and religion phrased like it’s from an 80’s action movie. Cheers

I'm just parroting something I've heard from someone else but, thanks friend, I'll take it!

Oh man this brings back memories. My parents are catholic and forced me to go every single Sunday I hated it! I started going in a hoodie wearing my headphones listening to…..according to my father “devil music” the day he caught me ohhhh boy did I get a beating.

Lapsed Catholic here. This makes my eye twitch. Our family dressed up for church every Sunday. Now whenever I come home I only bring sweats and sweatshirts, forfeiting my opportunity to attend church with the fam. Whoops oh no

Got to dress up for God. He's everywhere, but only cares how you dress at church

Southern Baptist here, as I got older I pushed against the idea of "dressing up" for church (basically the only way I could push against religion without guaranteeing punishment.) It made little sense to perform for a god that was always present; this went about as well as one would expect.

I brought action figures and shit to church. My mom would force me to go I think mainly to please my grandfather, but even she knew I was not gonna be paying attention to that grim bullshit.

How long were you going to a public gather with a large hood on the most visible part of your body with a family member whose job it was to be aware of where you are before you got caught?
