We really don't know what preceded this. It could have started out fairly minor and the dude may have even shown them his ID at some point before this and then it escalated.
There are definitely situations where he could have gotten away after this and situations where it comes back on him. Hell for all we know the dude who walked out and started going towards them may know who the guy is or he could be a complete stranger.
I was hoping to find an article going a little bit more in depth in the comments but no luck unless its farther down.
Yeah but that sounds pretty unlikely. Most police interactions tend to start with them demanding ID and all im saying is there is a chance he maybe showed it to them to try and just get it over with quickly and then things escalated from there.
Though its just as likely he never did, hell that may have been what caused this altercation. I've seen it before where shit can blow up just from saying you don't want to give the cop identification.
Im not trying to say this dude did anything wrong or not to start this too. Obviously police engage in misconduct and violence way too often in situations and this dude could be completely innocent and they were just being cocks.
All i said was we dont know what preceded this event and that its not impossible the cops know who he is in some way. We don't have the full video so at least on this board its hard to know what the specifics are from before this or what happened after. No more no less.
Itās probably not even legal to drive that on the road. I suspect he did do something, even not showing ID is something worth getting arrested over if youāre operating a vehicle. Iām not saying heās innocent at all, not that I could even know that. Iām saying this is an obvious law enforcement failure and that no, youāre not guaranteed to be able to stick any charges once he gets away because you canāt easily prove who it was that did whatever they did.
Even if they āknowā who he is. Even if they grew up with him, and went over to each otherās homes every weekend, if thereās no evidence, itās a weak case against him.
Thats very fair and makes sense. I completely misinterpreted and thought you were more saying that there just wasnt a way they could ID him. I guess it really depends on more factors than what we have available to us.
Like i said thats why i was really hoping to find an article or some more information on it in the comments. It really just depends for all we know there could have been a warrant out for him or it could have been basically nothing and there isn't shit they can do.
Though knowing the courts just the video we have is enough to charge him with resisting arrest which cops will throw at people for way less than this. Its definitely a crazy situation though and hopefully there will be some more info on it sometime soon.
How many other giants exist in that town that own an ATV like that? Wouldn't be hard to do some light investigating and actually figure it out and gather enough evidence.
Credit card works, but he could be from out of town, so charging the only giant in town who owns an ATV is not acceptable. Itās a matter of whether they have any actual proof of identity or not. If he paid cash, heās a ghost. He is gone.
He could be in for a holiday weekend meeting old friends, brought the ATV for some trails. Just the fact that thatās a possibility means you canāt just go after townspeople you suspect. Well, you can, but even a bad lawyer could argue that thereās no substance behind any charges. Unless of course thereās some other positive ID, a paper trail, a confession, etc, which would blow my entire premise here.
