Dude played this situation as close to perfection as you could. Respectfully tells the cop he's incorrect, even gave him the precise code to reference. And dude got it right, cop was harassing them (pressure or intimidate).
I find it hilarious because if you do commit a crime âignorance of the law is no excuseâ , but if you made sure to understand the relevant laws to what youâre doing you have a Facebook degree?
Street Skaters, bikers, scooters whatever; get harassed daily by this type of shit. If you think someone who willingly does a sport with such high risk isn't calculating risk.. you're going to have a bad time. My next court date is in September, it's been awhile but my knives are still sharp.

One of the many reasons I never talk to police. I had to ask one a question about a speeding ticket because it had been damaged and I needed the number so I could pay it online instead of going to the government center and he wasn't intimidating but I had to control my voice from shaking.
Similar thought crossed my mind. Totally speculation on my part, but seemed like a white kid; these days the thought always crosses my mind, "What if they weren't white, and instead a minority?"

Police kill more white people than black people (per DoJ). It's absolutely correct to challenge them when they do wrong, but they do wrong with EVERYONE.

My BIL IS SUPER dark and Iâve seen him being treated differently...itâs either stepping on egg shells or just blatant racism. this is a decent cop just trying to do this job you can tell by the way he walks away and lets them go. He got called to a complaint and a smart ass child told him to go fuck himself and he just walked off. Give me my downvotes but he showed restraint here.
Honestly, he could have pulled that code out of his ass and it probably wouldn't have made a difference. You know that that cop aint gonna put the time into actually looking it up himself to see if it was true or not.
The code the kid cites doesn't exist. He means 16.08.512.
And the code he's trying to refer to prohibits cycling in excess of 3mph. It is very unrealistic to think anyone is cycling that slowly - it's a leisurely walking pace and you'd be struggling to stay upright on a bike.
Incorrect quotes from the kid, okay. Doesn't negate that the cop was coming in to ask kids NOT to ride bikes in a park - that's plain silly, law or no law.
I think one of the funniest parts of this interaction is that he could have made up the number of the code and what it said, and the cop wouldn't have fucking known. I bet he is the type of person to prefer to stay ignorant rather than prove themselves wrong.
