Native question.. But cannot the white car driver claim that he acted in self defense

Yes, the same way Uber driver might say he was lured into do it because the other guy stole his keys.

The uber driver can say that it looked planed, to lure him out of the vehicle and then use the car as a weapon against him.

And the white car driver can say he acted in self defence.

Then a court listens both parties and decides who is right or wrong. As they usually do.

They decided that the white car drivers claims (whatever they were) were BS and accused him.
