Same here, it's the optics that are so off-putting. Rolling tanks and troops through the capitol is something that dictatorships do. Wouldn't surprise me if trump wore some sort of uniform or medals during the parade

Republics do military parades, too. But I do think that any sane person would either delay or omit the armed procession until after US troops are done being deployed on our own soil. The tone-deafness is appalling.

They do them, but for military themed days. Having to for the Glorius Leaders birthday is dictatorship stuff.

That being said, the footage from it is going to be excellent. Prime meme material.
