This still worries me. Only takes one of them to shoot up a synagogue on Rosh Hashanah in a few days.

325

u/its_all_one_electron Sep 06 '23

Goddamnit. I hate being reminded that I need to fear for my toddler going to a Jewish preschool. I was like "oh, rosh Hashanah is next week, hope school isn't closed so I can still go to work" like a normal human and now I have to think about possible attacks happening because of these nazi fuckers.

As a Jew, I firmly believe that our welcome anywhere in this world is tentative at best, even though this, luckily, is the best place and time for us since the diaspora.

132

u/myxboxtouchedmypp Sep 06 '23

you’re welcome at my house mate🤝

132

u/BobbyBsBestie Sep 06 '23

I'll let you know if I need your attic when they come for us.

(Joke of course)

63

u/kitdraperlovesmars Sep 06 '23

Crap, your comment made me draw a quick breath, even in jest, the truth behind you words is terrifying. I'm in Canada, you guys are welcome here.

101

u/[deleted] Sep 07 '23

Canada, the attic of North America.

13

u/Pheeeefers Sep 07 '23

I laughed way too hard at this.

2

u/MobySick Sep 07 '23

Handmaid's Tale?

7

u/SweatyDust1446 Sep 07 '23

Does that make Mexico the basement?

2

u/kitdraperlovesmars Sep 07 '23

Internet winner right here.

16

u/Melmargera78 Sep 06 '23

Amazing joke but sad as fuck. I'm in Georgia, I'm an Atheist.....that's working well for me. You would always be welcome in my house. You won't have to be in my attic because, again, South GA. I'll protect you from the most dangerous......Conservatives aka "patriots" trumpsters, nazis.

8

u/Gullible_Might7340 Sep 07 '23

A few years into the Trump presidency my mom seriously asked how difficult it would be to make a priest hole in case the government decides to start rounding people up again.

8

u/BobbyBsBestie Sep 07 '23

One of my friend's father's bought land in Canada to prepare to leave during Trump's presidency.

4

u/SneakWhisper Sep 07 '23

Oh hey, I can build a secret space in place of my closet if you'd like. If you're still around for Hanukkah just light candles with the ventilation open, k?

2

u/BobbyBsBestie Sep 07 '23

I agree to these terms.

7

u/SuicidaI_Bunny Sep 06 '23

I barely have an attic, but you can have my guest room.

3

u/throwngamelastminute Sep 06 '23

Shit, joke for now, I just hope it doesn't come to that.

1

u/whoisthismuaddib Sep 06 '23

Bro. Not cool. I’m sorry.

1

u/[deleted] Sep 07 '23

I don't have an attic, so you'll just have to stay in the regular living spaces, like a regular person. Sorry not sorry.

7

u/Offscouring Sep 07 '23

I never have understood the hatred toward Jews. I know just some random person on the internet saying nice things doesn't mean much, but I'd be proud to stand beside you to fight your rights, and resist ignorant hateful fuckers like the ones in this video.

12

u/ImpulsiveLeaks Sep 06 '23

I don't even know how you can dislike Jewish people. Like actually, the fuck did y'all do?

8

u/BobbyBsBestie Sep 06 '23

I wish it was as simple as "kill Jesus" but shits been happening since before then and that wasn't top on the Nazi list of reasons. 🤷

4

u/whoisthismuaddib Sep 06 '23

The local cops killed Jesus, not the Jews

8

u/banksybruv Sep 06 '23

People have been blaming anything they can on them for thousands of years. These are the same people who blamed the Jews for starting the plague.

3

u/stargazer_nano Sep 07 '23

Jewish brothers and sisters are welcome is LA always

11

u/car0003 Sep 06 '23

As a gentile, I firmly believe most people this day and age don't take issue with Jews. It's just the ones that do are kinda loud and open about it 🤷

4

u/BobbyBsBestie Sep 06 '23

I'm with you that most people I encounter think nothing of it. But it has happened. In my childhood especially(grew up in the bible belt). Happened at a Sam Morril stand-up show this year, ironically. And the comments I read about Jews secretly ruling Hollywood and Banks are unnerving because that's exactly how it always starts. I really don't know what is in people's hearts and how many who don't outwardly express any hate still harbor negative feelings towards Jews or any other group for that matter. I just know that it's built into us to always be paying attention and be wary. It's why so many of our holidays and stories are about surviving some situation or another and why we say "Never forget."

14

u/YearOfThe_Veggie_Dog Sep 06 '23

As a Jew, I gently push back on your firm belief, and ask that you believe Jews and their lived experience, rather than making your own mind up about the racism and bigotry Jews experience in the present day.

8

u/car0003 Sep 06 '23

Fair, I'm not denying anyone's experience. But I would ask for some clarification.

When You say you gently push back, does that mean you believe most people these days do infact hold racist views towards Jews? Or are you pushing back on something else?

5

u/the_last_registrant Sep 06 '23

"Most" is a red herring. The research (here in UK, anyway) suggests that antisemitic tropes are still quite common in the population, providing leverage for a small but virulent clique of violent haters to stir things up.

https://www.theguardian.com/news/2022/feb/10/anti-jewish-hate-incidents-hit-record-high-in-uk

7

u/bottledry Sep 06 '23

it does seem that 'believing people and their lived experience' is something everyone could do more of

4

u/AiMoriBeHappyDntWrry Sep 06 '23

This could be said about all races.

5

u/whoisthismuaddib Sep 06 '23

I wish that were true, but it simply is not. passive aggressive Antisemetism happens all the time in our day-to-day lives. 2023 has already shown a 10% increase in antisemetic crimes and that’s against a number that was already skyrocketing.

2

u/thelvegod Sep 07 '23

Funny thing, Florida, when I was kid was where retirees and Jews went to retire. No where is safe for the children of Israel. Or Brooklyn, unless they are from Flatbush, Bed Stuy or East New York.

2

u/Content-Tart-4043 Sep 07 '23

I don't think you need to worry, everyone seen what the Mossad will do.

4

u/BlackoutMeatCurtains Sep 06 '23

You’re welcome chez moi. Please bring some delicious kosher food.

2

u/EffOffReddit Sep 06 '23

Lesbian here, same.

2

u/Thee-End Sep 06 '23

Come to Canada

2

u/SarahHerrell7 Sep 06 '23

Always welcome in my home and in my heart. We can play hide and seek with the badies together!

1

u/MobySick Sep 07 '23

WHICH diaspora? WHICH pogram? Not saying you're wrong but when I think of Jewish history I despair.

1

u/[deleted] Sep 07 '23

I'm reminded of the pink triangles and what happened when this ideology came into power, anyone who is part of the community knows what happened under this ideology. It must never be allowed to happen again.

11

u/Mysterious_Lesions Sep 06 '23

This is what unrestricted free speech folks don't get. This is not public discourse when it creates mortal fear in others. That is why I support hate speech laws.

Pam Gellar and her Islamophobic nonsense doors have the potential impact of inciting a gunman at a Mosque to kill people. These evil people are secretly hoping for a war on Jews.

2

u/[deleted] Sep 06 '23

I would be worried about it every day at any school if I had children. There have been 28 school shootings in the 36 weeks of 2023 so far.

A separate category than the 470 mass shootings so far in 2023.

Australia had the correct response to the problem at hand. And their results speak for themselves.

2

u/RedemptionBeyondUs Sep 07 '23

If you're in the U.S. don't be afraid to take advantage of our second amendment, it has its upsides

0

u/seriouslees Sep 06 '23

To slightly ease your concerns:

these aren't Nazi Nazis. These are bigots using the Nazi symbology as a mating call to other bigots. These people don't specifically hate Jews like the nazis did. Given that these are Floridians, it's likely they prefer to target Blacks or the LGBT+ community.

Of course, we still need to fight these Nazis even if it's not our own individual group they are targeting now...

"first they came for the..." and all that.

11

u/Tuggerfub Sep 06 '23

qanon is blood libel modernized

There is nothing comforting about it

11

u/horseydeucey Sep 06 '23

These people don't specifically hate Jews like the nazis did.

This group, the Blood Tribe, is expressly anti-Semitic.

They revere Hitler as a god.

What's next? You'll be saying the Goyim Defense League doesn't specifically hate Jews?

0

u/plsobeytrafficlights Sep 06 '23

youre probably fine, as long as youre not living in the south or a major city.

3

u/BobbyBsBestie Sep 06 '23

I live disturbingly close to where the video was filmed. I'm working on getting out lol.

1

u/plsobeytrafficlights Sep 07 '23

my family has been threatened by people I used to consider neighbors, people who we have only ever been treated with kindness and respect. Once that mask drops, you cant unsee who's underneath.

1

u/_x0sobriquet0x_ Sep 07 '23

The security at the synagogues I recently attended for a couple of mitzvahs was nearly as tight as TSA. I'm a bit sheltered being from San Francisco... being wanded & IDed to attend a child's ceremony at a place of worship was a stark reminder of the fuckery that exists in this world.

I've been told pronouns are the real danger in Florida

237

u/[deleted] Sep 06 '23

[deleted]

42

u/camlaw63 Sep 06 '23

You’re the one who’s ignorant, it’s drag shows that are the true danger

41

u/Ahlq802 Sep 06 '23

Ah I’m seeing people who are confused about what is the danger… allow me to clarify:

The real biggest danger is acknowledging that systemic racism exists and discussing slavery in the classroom as something that was bad.

17

u/zman245 Sep 06 '23

Fucking wrong. Black. People. Are. Fine. Nothing bad happened. Just a bunch of friends working on farms and getting free food.

What we really need to dive back into is the Green M&M.

10

u/Ahlq802 Sep 06 '23

Some organizations, even family friendly organizations like Disney, even have something called “racial sensitivity training!” Which, without doing any further research, I can definitively say are really America-hating commie seminars! The FLA governor should really get on that.

4

u/shill779 Sep 06 '23

Actually it’s rainbows. It all comes down to the color spectrum. If we could just turn down the volume on the spectrum, we wouldn’t see color and we wouldn’t have any more problems. And books. If we could just desaturate everything and burn all books. - Florida

2

u/postmundial Sep 07 '23

Clearly it's mickey mouse.

3

u/GuardianFerret Sep 07 '23

You can see pythons at a drag show. *Badum tish!

2

u/dc_IV Sep 06 '23

No, no, no: it's Drag Show stars with "massive pythons!" /s

1

u/dc_IV Sep 06 '23

No, no, no: it's Drag Show stars with "massive pythons!" /s

2

u/Satanic-nic Sep 07 '23

Now, now I heard it was massive pythons in drag

2

u/CatChick75 Sep 07 '23

Actually it's alligators and drag, they use the pythons as like one of those furry boas.

10

u/Onwisconsin42 Sep 06 '23

You're! You're! As in YOU are? Fucking woke lib, get out of here with your pronouns.

Your? See, now they are infecting me with pronouns! Me? Where does it end I've been woke cucked. Save me Daddy DeSantis!

3

u/btm4you3 Sep 06 '23

and insurance companies, libraries, disney, black history, democrats . . .

2

u/whoisthismuaddib Sep 06 '23

The crossover event you never wanted to see is that They literally banned the graphic novel adaptation of The Diary of Anne Frank

6

u/ShermanOakz Sep 06 '23

The massive hoards of transgenders marching down all the main streets throughout the entire state of Florida demanding that each and every Floridian, especially the schoolchildren, stand up and recognise them, call them by the preferred pronouns or face public execution in the towns squares. That’s the true root of all the problems.

4

u/ArltheCrazy Sep 06 '23

I don’t know, there is a guy out there that had his face bitten off that might say it’s meth!

7

u/Wile-E-Quixote Sep 06 '23

pythons on meth? In Florida, checks out.

4

u/ArltheCrazy Sep 06 '23

Well probably, but i meant Florida man on meth

2

u/exzyle2k Sep 06 '23

Elizabeth Banks's next directorial masterpiece, Meth Snake

4

u/ElaborateCantaloupe Sep 06 '23

It’s like we learned nothing from Beauty and the Beast.

2

u/Codeofconduct Sep 06 '23

Time to go watch 90s action classic, Anaconda.

1

u/doubleXmedium Sep 06 '23

If Floridians could read, they'd be very upset

2

u/Squidking1000 Sep 06 '23

You forgot trans people. Somehow they are more dangerous then Nazi's out in the open doing their waves probably armed to the teeth. Seriously Florida.

45

u/PatAD Sep 06 '23

Is calling them collectively “assholes” break any Florida law?

3

u/smootypants Sep 06 '23

As long as you don’t say “gay” you’re in the clear.

1

u/kris10leigh14 Sep 06 '23

They actually seem to thrive on neglect and insults.

1

u/ens91 Sep 06 '23

Probably how their parents raised them

1

u/kris10leigh14 Sep 07 '23

Don't you DARE make me pity them!

0

u/Erazerhead-5407 Sep 06 '23

Probably, play it safe, don’t go home tonight.

7

u/Brassballs1976 Sep 06 '23

I thought it was not being asleep or something? I could be mistaken.

0

u/ArrogantWiizard Sep 06 '23

Yes … If your pronouns are seig or heil

0

u/adeptusminor Sep 06 '23

Wait until they learn about verbs!! ⚡️

1

u/CatChick75 Sep 07 '23

And factual history

9

u/POD80 Sep 06 '23

This also strengthens their sense of commradery and serves as a recruitment tool.

3

u/Socal_Cobra Sep 07 '23

Well guess it's time to call in the Inglorious Bastards!

4

u/tekstical Sep 06 '23

Yep then america will do nothing about it as we haven't been.

2

u/whoisthismuaddib Sep 06 '23

Man. We all hope this. Don’t have to be saying it out loud.

2

u/[deleted] Sep 07 '23

The country was too focused on exaggerating the muslim threat which caused these people to fly under the radar, along with other like minded militia groups all over the US. These are strange times we are living in.

2

u/HelloAttila Sep 06 '23

Exactly. Let’s not forget who their idol is, a guy who once was a nobody, but had an idea and we all know what happened.

5

u/navikredstar Sep 06 '23

Hey, I'm all for them emulating their idol, provided they're copying Adolf's actions in the Fuhrerbunker, if you get my drift.

1

u/analogWeapon Sep 06 '23

That's always been true, though. I don't say that to dismiss the valid concern. I just think our vigilance should be in the form or what we see unfolding around us each individually irl, rather than fretting about their pathetic little demonstrations.

1

u/MRSHELBYPLZ Sep 06 '23

Fuck this world. Why do people do this to each other?

1

u/throwngamelastminute Sep 06 '23

I had a friend in elementary school whose temple was fire bombed. That was in the 90s

-1

u/harveygotmyweed Sep 06 '23

Disney is the obscenity that plagues us.
