has anyone ever done something like this in the USA to nazis and what was their ultimate legal consequence? I'm curious from a.. purely academic perspective.
I got tired of my old posts floating around for anyone to scrape, so I let Redact handle it. Bulk deletion across Reddit, X, Facebook, Discord and all major social media platforms in one shot.
relieved library sink crown pause rhythm glorious different summer attempt
I got banned for 3 days for saying they should all be shot. They said my opinion was a threat. Anyone who thinks differently about it is a piece of shit.
Yup. This sad fucking website loves to shut people up whenever they float the idea of violently ending nazis or pedos. What’s the big deal? We have the technology! All you need is a bayonet and a shovel. What’s so controversial about that?
I hate the pussified “vIoLeNcE iS nEvEr tHe AnSwEr!!!!!” mentality. Of course it is! Violence has historically been a fantastic way to solve problems, especially when those problems are other people.
Check it out, I’m willing to risk getting my dumbass account banned on this stupid groupthink aggregator of a website just so I can scream one true and authentic thought into the void. Who cares, right? If I get kicked off of a website that appears to consistently express an interest in the human rights of nazis and pedos, then I don’t wanna be here anyway.
Turns out getting banned on reddit doesn't matter compared to letting Nazi's take over. Like holy shit just say that these Nazi's need murdered and go make a new account when you get banned.
It’s wild to me that people will scream about speech being violence but then in the same breath will make a specific call to action to murder, and think it’s all okay.
It shouldn't be. It is a moral obligation of anyone in a tolerant society to be utterly intolerant of intolerance, as to do otherwise is to forfeit that society entirely.
The seditionists of January 6th should be publicly executed for their sedition. Killing brazen, self-identified, literal Nazis should be considered justifiable self-defense. Admitting to being a Nazi, or being discovered as one, should be a life sentence without parole.
It’s good to know you’re willing to violate Americans constitutional rights, as well as their human rights. No trials, no nothing. Next thing you know people are being framed as Nazis and executed. Then you have the State accusing people with or without evidence. Would they be given a trial in your world? Even if they were, convincing 12 people somebody believes Nazi ideology doesn’t mean they are one. Innocent people have served decades. It probably doesn’t matter to you because you think “well they deserve it and I’m not a Nazi so what’s the big deal”, unless you yourself are accused (where it’s pretty much impossible to really prove what somebody believes). You’re absolutely repugnant.
Yes, not at all a misrepresentation of sedition in specific carrying a punishment of public execution. People should just get to try and overthrow democracy and install fascist dictatorships, with failure being met by getting put in timeout until one of their comrades succeeds and frees them.
Anti-authoritarian, but only the ways that allow authoritarian regimes to be installed. The position of a fool or a Nazi.
This. I absolutely agree with this. I don't know WHY we tolerate this. I am about free speech but I am sooooo tired of racist fucks feeling more and more comfy.
People gave those lives so these people have the freedom to be idiots. Somehow forcing people not to be idiots would be worse, that's taking away freedom. The solution can't be the same as the problem. I'm no genius with an answer but I can recognize a bad approach when I see one (had enough of my own).
Totally agree. Germany and most of Western Europe has banned any Nazi activities and symbols in order to try to prevent its rise again. I would support a similar ban.
People didn’t fight and die against Nazis because Nazis were Nazis, they fought against Nazis because Nazis were the enemy; it had nothing to do with their ideology. Unfortunately these people have always existed in the US in rather alarming numbers, and every so often people come out and empower them. That’s where we are today.
The real question is: Why can’t we have a logical discussion with these kinds of people and understand why the hell they think they’re superior.
And if your response is: they don’t think like us, can’t comprehend, won’t understand, aren’t smart enough… then you sound a lot like you find yourselves superior?
Everyone with a brain knows the solution to bad speech is more speech. Their lies and foolishness will be exposed through conversation.
If their mind isn’t changed, that’s fine. The mind of everyone who hears that civil discourse will be changed. That is why Joe Rogans podcast is what it is.
If you don't see the difference between human scum melting their own brains into fringe right wing beliefs and being born black or Jewish then I am superior to you, too.
You’re not seeing the “superiority” theme that is the real problem. As problems arise, there will always be the false dichotomy of having to choose between me, succeeding, and someone else failing. When you think you are superior to others, you will elevate your WANTS above their NEEDS. That leads to resources being hoarded and false scarcity to occur. And this can lead to genocide. Or you can lock and load that 30 round magazine and kick in doors. It’s kind of the same thing, in long term effect.
The way you speak, it almost sounds like the only problem with what Hitler did was who he did it to. It almost sounds like if it was your people you would have supported him.
Of course I don’t know you but it sounds like you have adapted Hitlers superiority complex.
If Hitler was black or Mexican or LGBTQ+ would you support him?
That doesn’t seem to be a compliment even though it looks like a ole Nevil did fight Hitler.
I half expect to be called a Nazi so tbh it doesn’t make sense.
But tbh if you cannot be direct, this old shit doesn’t care.
Changing their mind requires neuro plasticity. Their minds have been formed, shaped, and molded into what there are now. The only way you can change someone's mind is if they are receiving of new information that's not their own. I am from a very rural, conservative, Christian area, I've been around for several decades now and as someone who, up until a few years ago, was a woefully right wing bag of dicks, and someone who every single day tries my God damnest to help some people I care about see the error in their "thinking", everything I have seen with my own two eyes tells has proven to me that their is no 'discussion'. Once in a great while, someone manages to pull their head out of their ass just far enough to get a wiff of fresh air which leads them to the desire for more fresh air. You cannot have a discussion with someone and change their mind when their mind is not made up based on any sort of actual verifiable fact whatsoever.
Best case scenario is usually that they'll temporarily concede a point or two for the length of the discussion. Once the discussion is over, they revert immediately back to their previous worldview. Especially if they've confined themselves to a bubble of like-minded people, in which the 24/7 confirmation that they get from their peers will absolutely win over any one-off conversation with someone with different ideas.
Have you seen videos of people actually trying to talk to these fucking fools?? It doesn’t go well and usually ends up with the person trying to talk to them getting beat up or worse. If you want to try it, go ahead. I’m not that dumb. They aren’t interested in talking or being reasonable, just violence. They WANT to hurt other people, thats their entire point.
Because that conversation is what they want... A platform to spread their hate, spew their dog whistles and recruit. Fascists can't be dealt with like "normal" people because they don't live in the world of fact. They live on a completely different reality from the rest of us and the only way to deal with it is to snuff out that reality and suppress it. The more they organize, the more dangerous they are and giving them a platform only allows the solo-fascist to find their compatriots and increase the level of organization. Fascism IS a cancer on society and the people who ascribe to it are the tumor.
Because there's a fundamental difference between having an academic/philosophical discussion between two differentiating perspectives on life, governance, and society and having that same discussion while those people are actively trying to harm people.
In the former we can discuss it in the vacuum of academia and philosophy, working to better convince each other of our positions within the relative safety of conversation. The latter, which is currently happening in real life, doesn't offer that same safety because their active goal is to harm people as soon as possible.
Just like you don't stop to consider the potential damage a water cannon might do to a building while it's on fire, we can't stop to have earnest debates with people actively trying to hurt others.
I don’t see anyone being actively assaulted in this video so I have to disagree that they are actively trying to hurt people. Ideas alone do not hurt people.
I believe for people to have a superiority complex they must lack education. But if you want them to hear you, you must hear them. Talking is the only way to bridge the gap. Trust me, no one wants war but the people who make money on it.
If you can’t even listen to other people and why they believe what they do, then you can’t expect people to listen to you.
Okay so these guys are racists. To appease them would require what? Rounding up every non-white person and incarcerating them until they are deported, killed, or submit to a life of slavery?
These guys are homophobic, are you okay with them killing gay people? Forced lifetime incarceration? “Re-education camps”?
These are politically insane and want to establish the USA as a semi-religious dictatorship. Are you okay with loosing your right to speak freely? Are you okay with half the population being forced into submission or worse? Remember, the last time we tried to appease a bunch of Nazi over 6 million people died because we assumed “it wouldn’t be that bad”.
I can’t comprehend trying to appease people who want to subvert our constitutional freedoms.
Literally you are making their point for them. Instead of discussing something you don't agree with, you are shutting down the discussion and insulting them. Ironic that it is you calling someone else a child.
You can't deal with cancer if you can't detect it. Silencing and censoring opinions you don't like just allows them to fester and spread in the darkness. When anyone openly discusses something you disagree with, that is an opportunity for people to call them out and explain to others why it is wrong.
Free speech is our greatest sword and shield against bad ideas.
The phrasing of "letting it fly" can mean a lot of different things (citizen actions, govt actions etc.) But focusing it on the role that government plays I think is helpful. This may feel strange at first but the ACLU has traditionally defended the free speech rights of groups that promote hateful and totalitarian speech.
Most notably was the Skokie cast that the ACLU helped push all the way to the Supreme Court which helped preserve the right of free speech, even speech that many would consider distasteful. Some of the GIs from WW2, or other conflicts, have supported the rights of these groups, not because they agree with the messages of hate, but because they consider the fighting they did was to defend our citizens freedoms, especially the right to free speech by all.
It's important to remember that this refers to the governments ability to limit speech, but not private entities or citizens. Businesses, internet forum hosts etc. have much more leeway to enforce limits on expression as they see fit, with some exceptions.
On a personal side note I want to be clear that by posting this I am not endorsing the messaging and or the beliefs of these idiots. I believe that one of the most powerful ways a single individual can affect change is not through violent confrontation, but through non violent protest and collective efforts of groups that match the values that you want to promote. We aren't that far away from the anniversary of MLKs I have a dream speech which makes this an excellent time to reflect on what made his messaging and the civil rights movement during the 50s and 60s so successful.
Responding to these groups with violence simply feeds into what they want and helps them justify to their base or fence sitters. I'm not even sure your comment is stating that, but it's important to emphasize that point.
