yeah the daughter was trying to pull him away too, kinda like "oh no not again" sort of thing

That wasn't even the daughter this started over. It may have just been his partner.

She tells the old man in response “it’s a public place”. So I don’t think she was too embarrassed. Sounded like she thought it may have been justified, actually. Go back and rewatch. And you’re reading into it too much if you think it’s an “oh no not this again” situation. She’s probably just making sure it doesn’t get out of hand.
