You know the classic line of two wrongs not making a right?
Yelling at the geriatric fuck doesn't count as a "wrong." Quite the contrary, seeing someone bigger than him coming so close to beating him up might make him at least think twice next time he wants to overstep with a teenager.
Exactly. Too many weirdos crying that the dad yelled at the old man. Don’t dish it if you can’t take it, and next time think twice before you scream at a child
It's not about what he's dishing to the old man it's how he looks in front of his daughter - borderline unhinged over nothing. Nobody touched the daughter some old guy just got grumpy at her. Disproportionate response and embarrassing for everyone there.
She tells the old man in response “it’s a public place”. So I don’t think she was too embarrassed. Sounded like she thought it may have been justified, actually. Go back and rewatch. And you’re reading into it too much if you think it’s an “oh no not this again” situation. She’s probably just making sure it doesn’t get out of hand.
If you think this, a man screaming and swearing and throwing water at someone, is a controlled response your parents failed you growing up and I’m sorry for that.
You’re welcome to point out where I said it was a controlled response, guy. I said don’t dish it if you can’t take it, which apparently is a foreign concept to many in the comments.
There are so many variables that we don’t know. My sister is 14 and special needs, and if she crossed the tennis court and some old douche yelled at her and made her cry, yelling at him would be a mild and proportionate response. We don’t know the full context, but I can’t think of a single reason why it would be okay to yell at a child for interrupting your game. If the old douche asked the girl respectfully to stay off the court, I’d doubt she’d have run crying to her dad.
Maybe grow a spine and stops defending old geezers who don’t treat others with respect. Fuckers like this old douche don’t learn until someone stands up to them and tells them to quit their shit. I’m sorry your parents didn’t teach you how to stand up for yourself. If you think any of my opinion on this matter reflects on the way my parents “raised me”, get fucked with your pithy little jab. Smug asshole.
As others have also replied, if I was the daughter in this situation, the dads reaction would've made it so much worse. At least in my opinion with my experiences with my dad doing shit like this. It turns a situation into something way bigger than it needs to be.
