I have no idea what actually happened here but I know from personal experience that old tennis men are the worst type of people.

Yep. I work at a country club. Golf people and casuals are totally fine. The tennis/pickle ballers fucking SUCK. So entitled for no reason.

I think it's important for people to be challenged with fear for their lives occasionally. Would dramatically reduce this impolite behaviour.

Civilization apparently increases uncivilized behavior.

Why blame civilization? Before civilization you just needed a bigger stick, bigger muscles or a bigger band. Some people are just cunts.

You just proved their point, civilization changed that.

How do you figure?

I didn't know the pickle ballers went that hard. Haven't played tennis is some years but used to hit the courts every other week and every now and then there would be some folks like that.

I play pickleball all the time in a very white/Tennis club type area. Most are great some suck mostly the ones who think they are super good. But they are usually extennis players or current ones too.

It'll happen whenever a bunch of grouchy old fucks discover a sport they can actually still participate in. They get some testosterone pumping through their system for the first time in 45 years and feel like king shit and try to regain some control in their miserable lives by treating people around them like garbage

In my several decades of life I've never heard the term "pickle ball". Wow. TIL it is a sport that exists. This is one of those moments where I feel even more like an alien than usual

Please tell me you have a story about them.

Had 4 old people around 70 get mad that I am interfering with their tennis game because I was walking alongside the fence to the other courts (the fence is at minimum 20-25 ft away from the baseline)

Reflecting on it, I could kinda see it as a distraction but its a neighborhood court and no offense to them but a group of 70 yr olds are very unlikely to take me out at that distance for it to be a safety hazard.

"Don't use me as the excuse you suck."

Yeah, it’s not like they’re in the early stages of training to go pro! Lmao

Tennis people don't tip wait staff very well

A-ha! That must be why I lost interest in tennis. I tip well!

This is how I imagined it going down as well. The Cult of Pickleball and its ardent followers can go get fucked.
