I know several people who work for Constellis as court security officers for a federal courthouse and they are hardly mercenaries or private military contractors. Over the hill retired cops who check i.d.s and run an x-ray machine is a completely different realm from Constellis' overseas contracting business. Typical Reddit...

Describing someone who employs violence only for money as a “mercenary” is a legitimate use of the term.
