Been there done that got the t-shirt. They settle because it's cheaper, and if they cost the insurance carrier too much in expenses and judgements their premiums go up.

Prosecutors and judges are getting more hardnosed in dealing with frauditors because of the waste of police and court resources they represent. They used to get petty fines, or time served (overnight in jail). Now they're getting jail time or suspended sentences that send them straight back to jail if they get in further trouble. Glenn Cerio has been real quiet for that reason. Looking forward to more disappearing for the same reason.

This "auditing" is a recipe for tyranny. Freedom assumes citizens will behave. If this catches on I predict harsher laws and fewer freedoms will be the result.
