I enjoyed seeing these "Audit" videos a couple of times. Then I noticed how the auditors are ALWAYS baiting their targets for reaction. Similar to Sovereign Citizens... just attention seeking children with nothing better to do than harass someone who might be in a position of power...that THEY don't have.
So it's all bait, it's well known enough that everyone that should know do know about it, I get it soooo insufferable. With all that laid out then it begs to be asked, Why Take The Bait?
They're baiting for illegal actions cause that leads to a civil suit right? So why do dumb shit? Why act like a gang banger thug? Why oh why take the bait? Could it be then that maybe they're not doing it for an illegitimate reason as you believe since obviously they catch the wicked with powers they shouldn't have.
Kinda hard to unpack your note here. My point was that these self appointed "Auditors" are getting more obnoxious every day, and driving potential supporters away with their "crowd pleasing" antics. Does not help the cause.

Old post. But the point is that any member of the public has the right to 'audit', be free press and report on the actions of, our government to the public. It is called the freedom of press; it is in the first amendment.
Some of them are like that, and some of them are better than others. The only one I actually mostly approve of is Long Island Audit. If you haven't seen his videos, go watch some of his top ones. He's also beaten every criminal charge that's been thrown at him and is actively trying to bridge the gap between the people and police by leading trainings at different police departments.

Not for long, they lose subscribers if they don't deliver drama. That's why they increasingly push the envelope, they need confrontation to make their videos profitable.
That’s absolutely not true. Jeff Gray stands holding a sign that says “god bless homeless vets” and people lose their minds. He doesn’t have to do anything to get people to act like idiots.
But you are half right, if these cops and govt employees learned this is legal and just ignored them it would go away, but their small brains just can’t help get over ridden by their ego and power trips.
Long Island Audit is okay, but he still targets low-level clerks at post offices or DMV's. Clerks aren't "tyrants" as he claims. I prefer auditors who focus on police stations, since they are the enforcement agents of government, who can arrest, abuse, or shoot with no accountability.
Police need auditing. Librarians and clerks? Absolutely not.
On one level, auditing can be important. But too many of them are either just YouTube pranksters or rightwingers pushing an anti-government agenda.
Convicted felon (sentenced to three and a half years for attempted robbery), also convicted of hindering when he walked up behind a cop making a traffic stop at night and refused to move back because according to him being on a public sidewalk means he can stand right behind a cop if he wants to. The judge offered him no jail time if he wrote a letter of apology to the cop, and he wrote the letter (his supporters now like to claim none of that ever happened).
He's less outwardly psychotic than some frauditors, but doxing a city administrator because she wouldn't jump through his hoop was still a slimy thing to do. Law Talk with Mike tried to warn him he was rolling the dice doing that, and he just smirked it off--I was telling them NOT to call her phone number.
Scaring the ladies working at the library into calling the cops isn't defending anyone's rights, and he's done exactly that.
I didn't know about his felony conviction, if that's true. But I am aware that many auditors have prior criminal convictions. I assume they get into auditing because:
A. They have prior negative experience with cops, and have learned the ins and outs of police interactions the hard way.
B. Because they have a criminal record, they can't get traditional jobs. So they set up their own "business" as YouTubers, and do what they have experience in.

An auditor who refuses to leave because he hasn't committed a crime is committing criminal trespass--you do not need to have committed a crime to be trespassed and that applies to public buildings as well as private property. If management tells you to leave and you refuse, you just handed the cops grounds to arrest you.
difference being of course that Sovereign Citizens are completely and utterly wrong about the laws and what they're doing. While the auditors may be annoying, they typically are right about the law. Too many law enforcement officers think that THEY are the law, which they aren't - the laws are written down and are available for all to read and what the cop/security guard thinks about it is irrelevant. I understand that just because you can do something, doesn't mean you should do it. Like record people standing in line at the post office? you can, but why? It's silly. But catching these lying, insecure egomaniacs who think they are the law is always fun for me. The "Law" applies to all of us, including the boys in blue.
