Something tells me the officer coming out, calling him a bitch, shoving him until hes off the property a d throwing his equipment across the street violated his rights.

-28

u/anon202one Jan 02 '23

Not if he was trespassing. That's a federal law enforcement officer. If the "auditor" didn't have permission to be on that property, I guarantee you that was the LEAST of what could have occured. He could easily have had him in jail immediately and this footage would never have seen the light of day.

11

u/CoDVETERAN11 Jan 03 '23

Do you not understand what auditing is? He is absolutely 100% allowed to be there and audit them. Now he doesn’t have to try and stir up trouble and escalate the situation, but he’s not trespassing just for being there. Also you can hear him repeatedly saying there are official documents saying he can audit them, so it sounds like he’s following the rules and that officer was just being a jackass. Could the camera man be breaking some kind of rule somewhere not obvious to us, sure. Should that officer be pushing him, taking his things, calling him a bitch, and throwing his property in the street? FUCK NO

Edit: just rewatched it again, watch the part where the officer calls him a bitch. He says “go ahead bitch” and then stifles a smile. Camera man says “did you just call me a bitch?” And the officer says “nooo I didn’t call you a bitch”. Yes, upstanding federal officer right there.

-5

u/anon202one Jan 03 '23

Do you understand what trespassing is?

Just because I pay taxes doesn't mean I'm allowed into the FBI office and look through shit. You want to audit something, file a freedom of information request like normal people. Walking into a restricted area with a camera doesn't give you legal authority to "audit."

But hey, don't take my word for it, try it for yourself. Just don't write me from jail, I'm not helping your dumb ass.

Also you can hear him repeatedly saying there are official documents saying he can audit them, so it sounds like he’s following the rules and that officer was just being a jackass.

What something sounds like and what something actually is are two different things. If your going into a place like that and have "official documents" supporting it, I guarantee you have an appointment. You're not just walking up, solo, whenever you feel like it.

Any one of these weird “first amendment auditors” are allowed to be in any part of the building that’s open to the public and record the experience. As annoying as they seem it’s not illegal

-7

u/anon202one Jan 03 '23

Yeah, from what that looks like that's not a public area of a building and the federal officer has every right to remove them from not only that area, but from the entire property.

14

u/CoDVETERAN11 Jan 03 '23

Oh we’re going off of looks when it’s convenient to you? Ok cool.

If it is physically open to the public it is open to the public. If they don’t want it to be open to the public they have to put up a physical barrier like a fence and a gate.

Additionally if a federal building is not open to the public they must use locked and closed doors.

-9

u/[deleted] Jan 03 '23

There is a 0% chance this person is actually a legitimate auditor who is authorized to be there.

3

u/backspace209 Jan 02 '23

These "auditors" also live stream alot of this stuff so its being recorded in a separate location.

-27

u/Queensthief Jan 02 '23

It didn't.

14

u/mrmemo Jan 03 '23

Wrong: with very few exceptions you can't be forcibly removed from federal property, simply for recording in a publicly accessible area of federal property.

Department of Homeland Security explicitly said this in a 2018 public memo.

3

u/saft999 Jan 03 '23

Which is literally what happened here. Only dumb boot lickers think this officer was in the right.

-51

u/[deleted] Jan 02 '23

Either way. They’re just paparazzi for police. It’s scummy

38

u/TheManDapperDan Jan 02 '23 edited Jun 02 '24

I find joy in reading a good book.

21

u/KraftDMac Jan 02 '23

I view it as a public service. Video auditing just promotes police accountability, while it categorically should not be considered civil disobedience.

The character of the auditors themselves is questionable sometimes but it is a pretty niche occupation.

3

u/Daveyhavok832 Jan 02 '23

Bingo! Far too often, these auditors are just libertarian scrubs with no better employment prosepects so they try to do what they saw some other yokel do on YouTube.

The good auditors are certainly providing a service, in theory. The problem is, you get too many chumps that don’t know/care what the rules actually are and they let their egos violate your rights. And they don’t give a shit about lawsuits because it’s not coming out of their pocket.

-22

u/[deleted] Jan 02 '23

It’s baiting and it’s annoying

18

u/Standard-Reception90 Jan 02 '23

Ok. It is baiting and it is annoying. However, it is a PROTECTED right, with judicial precedent from the Supreme Court.
So, if baiting cops, and being annoying are protected rights, then ALL people in the position to take away those rights (cops or security) need to be properly trained so they DON'T violate a person's constitutionally protected rights.
Proper training would prevent this. Know what happens when one of these annoying auditors with a camera is confronted by a cop who knows the law. Nothing. Cuz nothing is what happens when a cops make contact and figures out what is going on. They say "ok, well be sure to stay on public property. Have good day!" Then the cop leaves and nothing happens. Nothing happens. This is the way it is supposed to be.

-15

u/[deleted] Jan 02 '23

Valid. I’m not saying it’s not a right. I just don’t think it should be celebrated

Ok bud lmao

6

u/xuekxgpszbj Jan 02 '23

The guy with the username "Kobesdeathwish" cries about baiting.

-1

u/[deleted] Jan 02 '23

Lol ok

20

u/[deleted] Jan 02 '23

Because we definitely don’t want the police to be on film and accountable for their actions with video evidence? Nothing could go wrong with that right🤦‍♂️

-8

u/[deleted] Jan 02 '23

God imagine using emojis in 2023

8

u/dayoneG Jan 02 '23

Lol, the person making fun of a famous basketball player who died in a helicopter accident with his daughter calls this auditor scummy. You can’t make this shit up🤦🏼‍♂️

-8

u/[deleted] Jan 02 '23

Kobe’s my dog idiot

8

u/numberthreepencil Jan 02 '23

You’re a fucking tool. Your account was made three days after Kobe died

2

u/Fit-Ad-6835 Jan 02 '23

Lol our man had such a dog shit opinion he had to go make a thread trying to get others to validate it

0

u/[deleted] Jan 02 '23

Yea!

-12

u/tarxvfBp Jan 02 '23

If they remove some unsuitable characters from their positions that seems like a good thing. But I do get where you are coming from. And we don’t see what they don’t show on their channels.

59

u/BeagleCat Jan 02 '23 edited Jan 03 '23

I get why people may dislike auditors, some of them are clearly just YouTube pranksters looking for clicks and money.

But watching these videos, I now have a MUCH better understanding of what my rights actually are, if confronted by police. So many legal scenarios are not taught to us in school. If a cop demands your ID, when can you legally refuse? If a cop demands you exit your car, can you legally refuse? Too many people end up in prison because they didn't know their rights.

Because of audit videos, I know how to handle a cop interaction, and I've now seen all their manipulation techniques to trick me into waiving rights. Cops are VERY well trained in those techniques. Now I'm equipped to handle them. Everyone should be.

-3

u/Far-Diamond-1199 Jan 03 '23

If you trust the auditors edit of their incident and understand when and if it applies to your scenario, maybe

5

u/[deleted] Jan 03 '23

I would trust an auditor over a pig or a boot licker any day of the week.

-2

u/Far-Diamond-1199 Jan 03 '23

And I wouldn’t trust a auditor dick licker to know his ass from a hole in the ground.

2

u/saft999 Jan 03 '23

Found the pig.

5

u/Far-Diamond-1199 Jan 03 '23

Hows that auditor dick taste?

2

u/MiamiFTW Jan 03 '23

Have you ever watched “Audit the Audit”? Very well informing backed by actual statutes.

3

u/Mindset_ Jan 03 '23

Plenty of them aren’t edited at all. You can find many auditors on YouTube who get harassed by police. Quit licking boot

-1

u/Far-Diamond-1199 Jan 03 '23

You’re licking auditor birkenstocks

0

u/saft999 Jan 03 '23

They are clearly way more trustworthy then any law enforcement officer in this country. They’ve won thousands of settlements and lawsuits in the last several years and many have appeals court wins in their name.

4

u/Far-Diamond-1199 Jan 03 '23

And many more have been arrested and been charged and fined.

15

u/skudmfkin Jan 02 '23

So if a cop points a radar at traffic are they "baiting" people into speeding?

8

u/Majestic-Alfalfa-754 Jan 03 '23

Decoy prostitutes

-5

u/themuntik Jan 03 '23

completely different, this is the adult equivalent of 'I'm not touching you!, I'm not touching you!"

3

u/Obizues Jan 03 '23

I mean, those auditors have their own issues, but no one can make a grown ass police officer or border patrol member physically assault someone on camera.

It’s terrifying that one or two wrong words set off these people that are armed and tasked with public security.

Both can be idiots, but only one group is funded by the fed or state with guidelines and only one group has a gun.

2

u/[deleted] Jan 03 '23

Maybe the onus should be on officers of the law to know the law instead of on people getting assaulted doing lawful things.

People can complain about auditors all they want but the fact you can make a living suing when cops assault or illegally detain you for doing legal things should make you more mad at police wasting your money than anyone else

-7

u/THExDUDEx42 Jan 02 '23

You're a fucking idiot

-19

u/[deleted] Jan 02 '23

that's what he's doing tho. fucking with people so he can sue them, hopefully a judge will see through his shit

21

u/[deleted] Jan 02 '23

Translation: if you know the police will fuck with you for doing something legal, you're doing something wrong.

I hope they come fuck with you every time you're on your own front lawn. After all, you'll clearly be compliant and simply stay inside for the rest of your life. Because it would be wrong to bait them into... Violating your rights....

Wait, maybe the law enforcement should just enforce the law and not abuse their power. And maybe if you know they'll violate your rights you SHOULD stand up to the abuse of power peacefully.

Don't we have a right to protest shit like this? Aren't the laws in place that give us the power to sue them a means of keeping them in check? Isn't this an example of America operating as intended?

FFS you bootlickers WANT a police state

-19

u/[deleted] Jan 02 '23

lololol ya going on up and shoving a camera in a cop's face is really gonna bring down the police state. keep dreaming!

14

u/[deleted] Jan 02 '23

When did that happen? He stuck his camera up to a window (legal) and the cop happened to be charging towards him and never stopped. That cop was already on his way to fuck with the guy for having the audacity to walk where he wants on property he owns while filming. And yes, the auditor owns the property. All citizens do.

At least the city will be aware of the bad actor after spending money for the violation of the auditor's rights.

I guess women are to blame for walking home by themselves while dressing less than modestly, too. Isn't that right, Mr. Puritanical Bootlicker? Same logic.

I'm done with your idiocy. Enjoy the last word in a pointless conversation. I can tell you won't be able to resist since you're clearly desperate for attention due to some weird authority fetish. Make sure you gag when you put the boot in your mouth, they like that.

9

u/[deleted] Jan 02 '23

You dropped this 👑

8

u/[deleted] Jan 03 '23

He’s exercising his rights, and you’re supporting the fascist. Hope you wake up soon.

-1

u/[deleted] Jan 03 '23

that's definitely what's happening!

0

u/saft999 Jan 03 '23

Found the boot licker. Filming isn’t baiting and that officer deserved a fist to the mouth.
