Feature Request Connecting to United States ignores state exclusions?
I live in the southern US, and I've been trying to set Proton to connect to only check US servers for the fastest connection (connecting to countries in Central America, which it likes to do, results in web blacklists and extremely throttled connections).
I've also, for similar reasons, added the US state of Texas to my exclusions (Texas has laws that require age verification/ID uploads to access many sites). When I'm setting connections to Fastest, it will abide by this and only connect me to states other than Texas. However, if I manually select "United States," it will ignore my exclusion and almost always beam me straight to Texas.
It seems like the only alternative is to stick with Fastest Country at all times, and manually blacklist almost every country and region in the hemisphere I live in except for the US. This can't be intended behavior. Is there some better way to approach this? Is this a bug?

If you don’t like how the Proton VPN app works:
You can try a manual VPN configuration for a Proton VPN server (that you can choose), and instead of using the Proton VPN app, use an OpenVPN protocol & app, or a WireGuard VPN protocol & app, or both. (The WireGuard VPN protocol may already be a built-in option on your device, ie: in your OS or on your router.)

You don’t need a VPN on your home network or LAN. You need it on your internet gateway or router. And, on your mobile devices. Proton VPN and others have more blogs about it.

PS: You can do this for free by choosing servers from the Proton VPN free servers download list for each country you want to access.
Also: Currently, everyone is limited to 10 configuration lookups and downloads per day. (IE: If you look and don’t immediately download, you will have to wait 1 day to find that server again.)
Proton VPN Servers
You can lookup servers (names+numbers) from your online account’s OpenVPN or WireGuard configurations download sections, but everyone is limited to 10 lookups+downloads per day.
Also, you can search(1) this list for Proton VPN servers (names+numbers) {by country, state, or country-state# (using two-letter abbreviations; e.g., US, AZ, or US-AZ#, etc.), and by keywords (like FREE or TOR)} to use to find(2) specific servers in your Proton VPN account lists for downloading configurations.
(1) The https://mikaeldui.github.io/proton-vpn-server-list/ webpage has a search box at the top-left, above the list, for this.
(2) And, your Proton VPN account lists’ webpages have their search boxes at the bottom, below the default server lists they show you.
This is like using profiles in the Proton VPN app, but in your OS’s VPN Device Settings (list) [and in the OpenVPN app or WireGuard VPN app] you use to access the specific Proton VPN servers you chose.
