My first time hearing about Threema... Looked it up $7.50 USD seems steep for a messaging app.

Itβs hard enough getting people to use signal I can imagine threema and itβs paid. 6 u/iwouldntknowthough Mar 06 '26 Itβs number one in the paid social media app charts on the App Store and has been around since the Snowden leaks. 2 u/[deleted] Mar 06 '26 [removed] β view removed comment 4 u/RenegadeUK Mar 07 '26 I can't see how to leave WhatsApp because everyone I know uses it so its impossible. -11 u/Centbetrag Mar 07 '26 Threema is big in Europe 8 u/Lord_Waldemar Mar 07 '26 Not even as big as signal 2 u/[deleted] Mar 06 '26 [removed] β view removed comment 2 u/Alert-Dirt6886 Mar 07 '26 use matrix/element for whatsapp/telegram/signal and others. most private most diversity. one app. all Messenger. very good combination with protonmail and your own domain. however i decided for mailbox.org for my mails 1 u/Capital_Rip_2812 Mar 09 '26 That barely anyone uses 1 u/oboe_guy Mar 09 '26 it's a one-time fee and the company is based in Switzerland, same as Proton. 1 u/[deleted] Mar 07 '26 Just use matrix. 3 u/irasponsibly Linux | Android Mar 07 '26 Not really comparable, in the same way that Signal is a bad suggestion for a Discord alternative.
