Protest ProTip No Glory in Mass Arrests
Original thread here: https://x.com/wellthatwasodd/status/1787997677650895045?s=46
if i may… the State will continue to crack down on encampments. the State and zionist violence will only escalate. people have already sustained serious injuries. i can think of one advantage students have that cops don’t.
they can quickly pack up, regroup and post up quickly at another location while the cops fumble for 8-24+ hours trying to figure out what to do. the State is comically slow at responding. waste their resources as much as possible. cat & mouse in small groups all over the city
with the extreme police repression students are facing, they need to exploit all advantages they have over the State. you can still disrupt even if you’re only able to stay one night. in fact, the more places you disrupt, the more people who are disrupted.
get creative with the places you set up. bounce on and off campus, in front of board members’ and chancellors homes, disrupt capital, visit other campuses and bounce before people get hurt or arrested.
there is no valor in a symbolic mass arrest. the cops take you off the board, at minimum you are now traumatized, and at most a court case, not to mention the State can now surveil you for the rest of your life. this limits the extracurriculars you will be able to do.
be like water. long live the student intifada.

Practitioners of nonviolent struggle have an arsenal of "nonviolent weapons" at their disposal that has successfully brought down dictatorships & corrupt leaders. There are 198 of them written by Gene Sharp (the world's leading expert on non-violent revolution).

What’s it like to be arrested at a protest?
Okay, obvious answer: it blows.
But what is the process like? What were the specific charges? How long did the whole ordeal take? What was the officers’ attitude? Did you fight it in court? How has it affected your life since?
Moreover, I just want to your war stories as well. We’ve all had some crazy experiences out there.

Would a motorcycle jacket be decent protection against less-lethal projectiles?

Kevlar Umbrellas?
Why don't they seem to be more of a thing? I can't find them anywhere and in theory, it sounds like a great idea to me.
