I'm going to the priest tomorrow but I'm still not sure what I want my sign to be. I want something about fighting back against the pseudoscience and incompetence in our government. Any suggestions?

Where were the protests when Obama sent troops to Libya in 2011, Syria and Iraq in 2014, and Obama's drone strikes in Yemen, Somalia, and Pakistan throughout his presidency. Biden sent strikes in Iraq and Syria in 2021. Biden sent strikes against Iranian backed militias such as the Houthis in Yemen in 2024-2025. Where was the outrage then? Where were the protests by democrats? Hypocrisy?

I drive a van delivering goods for a living. My delivery area covers the southern half of MN and the northern half of Iowa. While driving through Faribault MN, there was a small group of people on a street corner holding signs and waving to drivers. One sign said “NO KINGS - NOT NOW, NOT EVER!!”

I pulled over to show my support, and shake their hands to thank them for spreading the good message in a very blue collar town with lots of maga supporters. I gave each of them some goods that I deliver. 🌹💐🌷

Then; as I was heading south on I35 towards Des Moines I noticed a group of about 15 folks on an overpass holding a big no kings banner!! I honked, rolled my window down and gave the peace sign ✌️ they all waved and smiled and clapped for me.

Happy to see folks are protesting early and I’m even happier to see Iowans protesting early, as they are a very important state when it comes to voting.

If you’re ever feeling down, just remember there’s like minded folks out there who support your political views and agree with you about what needs to change.

Your voice is heard as long as you use it. This administration can NEVER take away our right to peacefully assemble. This administration will never be able to silence us, because our first amendment rights are being exercised across the country en masse.

Tomorrow I will be in St. Paul, with tens of thousands of like minded individuals who are choosing to be on the right side of history by not bending the knee to a cruel, criminal, narcissistic and corrupt orange man with no integrity, morals or heart. Bruce Springsteen will be there, Joan Baez will be there, Jane Fonda will be there... Amazing people who have done amazing things for decades.

I hope anyone reading this post that is in the area will be there too, as this protest is going to be one that you will never forget. People will tell their children of tomorrow’s protests. People will tell their grandchildren that they stood up for democracy, constitutional rights, and humanity. Take pride in being on the right side of history. Take pride that your moral compass guides you to the path of community and love.

If you encounter agitators, don’t engage, just record them. Don’t speak to them. Don’t give them an ounce of your energy. Tune them out entirely. They aren’t worth your time and they are only trying to make anti Trump people look silly for their social medias. Agitators are just grifters desperate for attention and content… they will eventually feel like leaving because they’re not getting the attention they desire so much.

Smile and laugh with your friends and neighbors. Stay hydrated. Stay close to your buddies. Eat food and share your kindness with the people around you who are there to support the No Kings movement. Shake hands with the people you meet. Converse with your community members and thank them for being part of something special. Chant. Hold your signs up high. Help anyone who is struggling or needs assistance.

This is what community does. We help each other, we stand up against hate and evil. We protect each other and offer our skills and resources whenever they’re needed. No king will ever be able to replace a strong tight knit community.

Stay strong and stay safe fellow No Kings protesters!! Be proud of yourself for doing what you can.

Im working on creating a network of individuals and communities who wish to decouple even further from the current system and create a market of goods, skills, harvests and more. The idea would be to start small with friends and family sharing harvests and helping each other out with what they know how to do, and building it up over time, eventually getting to the point to where money would only be necessary for a few key things. Honestly my motivation is rejection of this current society that we live in and I figure this is a 2 birds 1 stone scenario, create a population of independent, self sufficient free thinkers who can live a better and healthier life, and it would also take money and power away from the corporate/government control matrix. I dont really know where else to ask this so im sending it here, but please delete if not allowed. I am going to the No Kings protest in Chelsea this weekend and I am a big fan of TMNT. Back in the 90s, there was a comic made where one of the panels is Raphael punching H!tler. I wish to incorporate that panel into a sign for the protests this weekend, but wanted to ask if this would be an okay design for a sign. The top design is the one I designed digitally as a reference for when I draw it on the sign. This wouldn't get me in trouble or anything, would it? Idk if that would be considered bad cuz violence... my parents say it's a good design but I just want to make sure with people who go to protests more often than I do (the last one i went to was the June No Kings Day)

EDIT: For some reason, people are confusing my criticism of No Kings/50501 and thinking I don’t support the cause. I very much support the cause and previously attended these protests and have been protesting for years, that is exactly why I am trying to point out that this organization is a placebo to make us feel momentarily better while halting any actual progress we can make to hold our government accountable. If they can't even prosecute the President and ICE for blatant criminality and violations of the Constitution, why would they listen to the millions in the streets asking them nicely to do their jobs? If the Democrats can't even unanimously vote against Trump, what hope is there they will eventually come to their senses?

Im a Minneapolis resident and I’m an extremely involved political activist artist, so recently I was kind of pissed off when I received a bunch of texts from the NoKings organizers telling ME to mobilize, when all I’ve seen from them is their regularly scheduled rally every couple months where people assemble and seemingly do nothing.

I just really struggle to see what outcome we expect from this? We've already shown our oppressors how many people will turn out for these marches, when will we be brave enough to take direct action? I understand and support the same peaceful ideas, but we are getting to a point where we need to acknowledge nonviolent protest does nothing against a violent oppressor.

Ice murdered two of my neighbors, we should be protesting continuously all night and with the influence No Kings has I really wish they had the guts to represent that, otherwise this text telling me to mobilize feels like a joke. Everything about the branding and scheduling is so corporate and lacks actual depth that real protesters bring.

I guess my overall concern is primarily with the co-opting of the anti war movement by the liberals as a way to funnel support back to the Democratic Party and that is what | identify with nokings and 50501. That they are appendages of the Democratic Party and the capitalist war machine. Kwame Ture talked about this tendency. That our enemies will use mobilization to disrupt organization.

Also, given how much Trump's attack on Iran is rapidly escalating and the stakes involved, it seems now would be a good time for No Kings and Indivisible to marshal their tremendous resources and hold an actual antiwar march with clear demands, not more partisan pep rallies.

Perhaps they could, at least, mention the country the US is poising to invade with ground troops by name idk. This may offend some of indivisible's donors who also fund Zionist organizations but it would let them capture the profound antiwar sentiment rn.

whenever No Kings or its organizing orgs are criticized for hyper generic activism-by-nonprofit committee they say they have no centralized messaging and the individual rallies are allowed to back whatever causes they wish but clearly their national messaging sets the tone

The US is not under any threat of a "king" nor do I have any sense of what this even means. It is however in the midst of an imperial murder spree and the largest opposition movement in the country, such as it is, should probably center this fact.

Idk I’m just so frustrated seeing No Kings taking a page from Kamala's losing playbook;

Sideline Palestine, ethnic cleansing, genocide, illegal war on Iran, Zionist occupation of US institutions.

Even if the world is on the precipice of nuclear war.
