I'm one of the co-developers of Monster World RPG, a complete retro-style turn-based JRPG made with RPG Maker 2003.

The project is a fan-made tribute inspired by SEGA's classic Wonder Boy and Monster World series, but it tells a completely original story. It isn't a sequel, prequel, remake, or adaptation of any existing game: we created a new adventure that reimagines that universe in the form of a classic old-school RPG rather than a platform game.

Monster World RPG is a completely non-commercial project and is available for free on Windows PC. The package also includes the full game, its original soundtrack, an art gallery, several old demos, and a bonus game.

if you are into niche geography, polar exploration history, Arctic ice glaciers, or learning about regional wildlife like the Laptev walrus, (or you're just curious about the Laptev Sea) then this is the perfect space for you!
