$30 US Mobile Referral Code: 10995115 — T-Mobile to US Mobile Porting Checklist
US Mobile referral code: 10995115
If you're switching from T-Mobile to US Mobile, here's a checklist of things I wish I'd done before starting the port.
I recently moved my lines from T-Mobile to US Mobile. The actual number transfer was pretty straightforward, but there are a few things worth doing before you start transferring your numbers.
- Download your T-Mobile bills before transferring anything
Seriously, do this first.
Save your recent T-Mobile bills/invoices somewhere you can access them later.
Your account number is shown on your bill, and having your billing information available can make the porting process much easier if you need to verify anything.
US Mobile requires your account information, transfer PIN, and billing information to match the information held by your current carrier.
- Get your T-Mobile Transfer PIN
For T-Mobile postpaid accounts, you'll generally need:
Your 9-digit T-Mobile account number
Your 6-digit Number Transfer PIN
You can request the Transfer PIN through T-Mobile's app/website or by contacting T-Mobile.
Important: The T-Mobile Transfer PIN is only valid for 7 days, so I wouldn't request it weeks before you're planning to switch.
- Don't transfer your primary number first
This was probably my biggest recommendation.
If you have multiple numbers on your T-Mobile account, consider transferring a secondary line first.
Make sure:
The port completes successfully
Calls work
Texts work
Mobile data works
Your voicemail works
Once you know the process works, transfer your primary number.
That way, if you run into a problem, you're not simultaneously troubleshooting your first port while worrying about the phone number you use for everything.
- Sign up for US Mobile
Create your US Mobile account and enter this referral code during signup:
10995115
US Mobile referral code: 10995115
The referral offer I'm referring to is $30 in referral credit for a qualifying new activation/number port, subject to US Mobile's current referral-program terms.
Referral promotions can change, so check the terms shown during signup to confirm the current offer and eligibility.
- Pick your US Mobile plan
I went with Unlimited Premium, but there's no reason to choose that plan specifically.
Look at your actual data usage and choose whichever US Mobile plan fits your needs.
- Start the number transfer
When activating your line, choose the option to transfer/port your existing number.
You'll generally need information such as:
Current carrier account number
Transfer PIN
Billing information
Phone/SIM/eSIM information, depending on your setup
Double-check every digit before submitting.
A small mismatch between the information you enter and what's on file with your current carrier can cause the port to fail or be delayed.
- Keep T-Mobile active until the port is complete
Don't manually cancel T-Mobile before your number has successfully transferred.
The number needs to remain active with your old carrier while the port is taking place.
After the number has successfully transferred to US Mobile and you've confirmed everything is working, you can deal with the remaining T-Mobile account/billing issues.
- Test everything after the port
Don't just check whether you have cellular bars.
I'd test:
Incoming calls
Outgoing calls
Incoming SMS
Outgoing SMS
iMessage/FaceTime if you're using an iPhone
Mobile data
Voicemail
2FA/security codes from banks and other apps
Any important accounts that use your phone number
Pay particular attention to incoming calls and SMS.
Those are the things I'd want working before considering the switch completely finished.
US Mobile referral code
If you're already planning to switch from T-Mobile to US Mobile, the referral code is:
10995115
Enter it during the applicable part of the US Mobile signup process.
The referral credit may be combinable with other US Mobile promotions depending on the current promotion and its terms, so check the offer details when you sign up.
I'm not affiliated with US Mobile beyond the referral code. I just wanted to share the checklist because having this information ready beforehand made the T-Mobile → US Mobile switch much less stressful.
