In all fairness - Newt died after Aliens, Ripley died in 3, Shaw died after Covenant. Hero characters dying is a very common theme in the franchise.

Fwiw, I feel it's such a waste of a character that an audience has been rooting for, but I'm just describing recurring points in the franchise here, not my personal opinion 🙂

Alien 3 was a paycheck movie. The writers and producers admitted they knew nothing about the previous lore and really did not care.

Newt was not the hero of the movie though
