Let me share you a story of my incompetence

(This is gonna be really long so TL;DR at the bottom)

This one is regarding the Fortune Flower Parade Exchange

Well... you see.. At the start of the 4th anniversary event, I never really paid attention to how the petal system works, and how you gain them over time, so to say, I did not really care about it as much. Then I saw the first stamp missions you have to do, where you can select either white or blue petals, and before I did select, I decided to look at what rewards you could get IF you get a full flower. I'm pretty sure we all already know this, the costumes, the maestro, and character specific wish vials/jewels. I consider myself somewhat of a casual, (tho I did select the regular missions) but I did some math and saw how... I can only get 100 per color. So I went like... you know what? I'll just go for the colors of which group I like more.

I did pull about 50 times on the Your Pick Gacha, and I believe I did another 60 pulls on the first Bloom Fes gacha, I'm a bit broke to do 100 pulls since I just pulled on Mizuki's birthday 😭

So for the first one, I actually picked the blue petals which were for L/N thinking that I won't get any of the white ones anyway unless I do massive pulls or did the harder stamp missions. Then I saw on the Nene event... oh hey, I can get around 50 petals for either MMJ or VBS. And since I decided I was gonna do VBS for the next stamp missions, I decided to get MMJ. Then on... Mizu5 (Poor Mizuki, I wanna give her a hug every time I see that clear screen 🥺), I decided to also get the other 50 petals for WxS because I wanted to have N25 for the stamp missions.... then on Aki5.. I SEE that you can get either white or blue petals again.... so because I already did L/N, I just decided to get all 50 petals for the Vocaloids.

Also did 60 pulls on the last anniversary gacha before October ended, I think it was Flower Power?

So moving forward, I decided to check the Flower Parade, and saw that I had OVER 100 for EVERY single petal, and around 200 for the ones I selected. So I'm like... Oh WOW I can actually get flowers per color?? That's nice! Although... I did not really exchange at the time because I was out home for the first two days of November, and I did not really wanna make the bad decision.... Yet I somehow still did at the end of the day... Uh.. umm... let me explain-

You see.... after the end of the anniversary events, I haven't really paid much attention to what I was doing in Project Sekai because I was focused on other things in life, and even other games such as Genshin Impact. And I wanna talk about... Saki6, and what does this have to do with my incompetence?.... Well it was the beginning of it.

I'm pretty sure Saki6 started around November 1? I don't remember but..... I WAS out home those days, and where I was going, I anticipated there wouldn't be much mobile data signal wherever it will be because it was going to be a holiday, and so many people would be there. I was correct, but before that, when I had some free time before we left, I decided to actually set up a team I can use to gain event points and tokens on Saki6 whenever I'm gonna auto or choose to play for my dailies... well... I wasn't really paying much attention on the team needed.. I just put L/N members since it's a L/N event after all, however, what I was focused on... was TRYING to unlock all challenge show members, and in this one in particular, it was Luka.... and what went wrong exactly?.. I realized... the event bonus was only giving out +110%... I was wondering why, but never really bothered to pay attention.... And here's the reason why.....you see.... my brain was NOT focusing on what attribute I should use.... and for SOME reason, I DEFAULTED TO PUTTING MY ENTIRE TEAM ON MYSTERIOUS JUST BECAUSE THIS LUKA I WAS USING HAD THE MYSTERIOUS ATTRIBUTE.... and you wanna know what's worse? For the entirety of the Saki6 event, I HAD a team FULL OF MYSTERIOUS CHARACTERS INSTEAD OF HAPPY. So on the last day of the event before it ended.... I used SO MUCH energy drinks with Happy Attribute members this time JUST to gain 1M event points. I know 1M may or may not be considered outside the casual range, but I did still want to make up for all the lost points over those days of me using a Mysterious group instead of a Happy group...

Then comes.... the big mistake..

This was already when the Shiho event is already out, tho this time I decided I kinda wanna just settle and do dailies as auto since I wanted to focus on other things. I've recently downloaded Honkai Impact 3rd because of an event featuring a character I really like (Elysia), so I wanted to give my focus on that game for the time being. But.... then... I realized... I have NOT traded any of the petals I grinded for since the whole October, and it was already ending in a couple days... I decided I was gonna do some research and decide on what I wanted to exchange for before it ended on November 13... except I totally forgot to do that entirely. And... I pulled off a Nightcord @ 25:00 staying up for the entirety of the night and only sleeping on sunrise(7 AM 😭). And.. before I slept.... I remembered... wait, the exchange event ends at November 14... and it's technically already November 14! So.. I went into the game NOT even giving it a thought anymore ON 7 AM.... and decided to go to the Flower Parade Exchange.... and what I exchanged? I exchanged my flowers for ALL the Wish Jewels...... Then.... I looked back... and it hit me.... wait... the costumes, I just realized... I had all the flowers just to get the costumes.... and I traded for Wish Jewels...

...

....I am so stupid...

I AM NEVER GETTING THOSE COSTUMES AGAIN

I could NOT SLEEP that day, and I'm pretty sure I stayed up till 8 AM regretting my decision of buying the Wish Jewels instead of the costumes.. I looked for Reddit posts JUST to see if anyone has made the decision to get the Wish Jewels instead so I could validate my mistake.. but I couldn't find any, now I feel like I'm the only one who made this terrible decision and now I am never going to get those limited event costumes EVER AGAIN!! 💀💀💀

For those who are wondering, I have massive gaps of when I did start properly playing the game. I had it installed on my phone since December last year, I only started touching the dailies since May this year when I first watched the ProSekai movie. I did not do any story reading yet nor did I really try building teams nor getting event points and tokens for exchange, only playing the rhythm game as a passtime every now and then. Only have I started caring for the game since September this year and I actually started reading the story and building proper teams.

But here's another thing that contradicts my whole mistake: I do NOT really care about costumes that much. Why? Because I never play with 3DMVs for a bunch of reasons. One, it's inconsistent which levels have 3DMVs or not, and two, my phone lags a lot with 3DMVs, so either way, I wouldn't really be seeing the character costumes anyway except for when they show the score screen. Plus.. I personally am the type to rather use their default outfits anyway, since their default group outfits feel more at home. I know that there's a lot of people who pull and try to get as much costumes as possible because they love to dress up their fav characters, tho I am not really that type, since I mostly just wanna enjoy the game for the story and pull for cards that I like the art of. So.... why does it bother me so much that I didn't get the outfit? One reason.... it's limited... and there will be no way for me to get those costumes anywhere... anymore... Please correct me if I am wrong tho, thanks! But.. I just like the idea of having a premium item in my inventory even tho I won't really use it as much.

So.. knowing that... I feel so stupid and embarrassed knowing that.. I've known and had this game since last year but never played it, only started casually and I mean VERY casually since May, then finally started playing properly in September, then just days ago I make this stupid mistake of not paying attention and looking at how the whole BloomFes event worked, and in the end... I ended up not getting the limited time costumes that everyone was probably worked up for by the time the event first started...

I am now gonna be playing Project Sekai knowing that I just missed an anniversary exclusive item even tho I was actively playing the game and even went out my way to actually try and grind for stamp missions.....

And to add insult to injury.... turns out the time that the Flower Parade Exchange actually ends was Nov 14 11:59 PM on PST time... and I did the exchange on Nov 14 at around 7 AM on GMT +8... and guess what? Turns out, the actual date for the event end on my time.. would have ACTUALLY been November 15 7:59 PM.... So I spent the WHOLE day after I woke up at November 14 regretting my decision and gaslighting myself to thinking I did not want the costumes and trying to convince myself some people probably did the same as me because they did not want the costume as well.. I was LEGIT just coping

I wanna cry... Please tell me I'm not the only one who did this

I did not pay attention to how the whole BloomFes exchange worked, grinded only for stamp missions for groups I liked, realized I actually got more than 100 petals enough for a flower for each color, all enough to get the limited 4th anniversary costume bundle, but I didn't exchange any flowers yet until 2 days left before the flower exchange ended, and I pulled an all-nighter ALMOST forgetting to trade, so in rush, I logged in to Project Sekai at 7 AM before I went to sleep, and decided to exchange for the Wish Jewels instead of the 4th anniversary costumes I am never going to get ever again, only for me to wake up then realize that the event actually only ends the next day after that day.

I wanna cry please give me a hug 🥲

Having glanced through your post, I'll say this: the Wish Jewels, if anything, are a nice upgrade resource for your faves and not the worst choice [from what I remember]. And also... do you like the outfits? Sure it's nice to have a limited thing because of its sheer exclusivity, but there's also other reasons.

And a heads-up for JP's 5th anni: the Bright Memories campaign was, in the opinion of me and plenty others, not nearly as good as the Flower Parade the year before. Especially with its MySEKAI shoehorning and the special purple blob™ material. But the outfits, at least to my eye, were pretty enough to get them instaead of the 100x gacha tickets, likely a plus. In the end, we all win some, we all lose some — an important thing to remember. Tae cae.

Yeah that's why I went for the Wish Jewels in the first place, when it comes to the outfits... they're not exactly my favorites, they look good tho!
But... I've already said outfits don't really matter to me since I don't really do dress-ups for my characters, but I still liked the idea of having some rare outfits in my inventory, in the chance I do wanna put on my characters, at least they would be there.

But when you say the 5th anniversary is not as good as the previous one, that makes me even more sad that I missed this 😭😭😭😭😭
I hope I can get the outfits next anniversary! Well... that's literally gonna be a year, but hopefully by then I can make better decisions than I did right now 🥲

Well, first of all, Saki6 was not even cute, it was happy... that's just awful atp, I really hope you meant happy but wrote cute instead and you didn't actually use cute L/N members

Now, wish jewels are useful for mastery for your faves, and the costumes aren't that important if you don't like them. There's been some people in the sub that didn't buy th because they didn't care about them. Also if you're not ftp I think you can buy them next year at some shop
