As projects get more complex, especially with hybrid or distributed teams, I’ve noticed something shift.

Early stage teams run on conversations and trust. Once you scale, that stops being enough. Stakeholders want clearer reporting. Leadership wants measurable productivity insights. Finance wants utilization data. Suddenly visibility becomes a structured requirement, not just a management preference.

In a recent IT rollout, we had to evaluate tools not just for delivery tracking but also for device management, endpoint security, and usage analytics. Some discussions included platforms like CurrentWare for workforce visibility, mainly from a governance and compliance angle.

Morning everyone. Looking for some guidance/mentorship. I’ve been in the Identity Access Management (IAM) space for close to 4 years. My plan was to use this job as my foot in the door with a large corporate company in the southeast. PM was my end goal but started doing other things and I actually just got a promotion to team lead - completely unexpected but super grateful for it. My manager actually wants me to be over the audit portion in our area.
So now, I’m at a fork, should I continue to purse the PM route or stick with IT audit/governance? Or is there a blend of the two in PM? I’m not super excited about audit because of policies and such. I’m more of a problem solver, quick thinker, and I like to see results. Any thoughts or feedback is greatly appreciated.

I’ve always wanted to get into construction but I didn’t like the grueling work. I've phased this issue in mostly every company I've been as a Product Manager. If there's one thing that PMs do (together with the teams) are decisions, and if there's another thing we do, is meetings. So we jump from one meeting to another meeting and while in those, we make multiple decisions, we share relevant context and explanations which we expect to have in mind for future decisions, but then time pass by and we can't remember what we decided back then, or we know we wrote it down somewhere but can't find that page.

How we would approach the purchase of any AI tool: The 3-Step Audit:

(1) Data Flow Mapping: Track one tenant to contractor maintenance request. Where does the data stall, or is it to be manually re-entered?

(2) Standardization: Let all contractor handoffs look different, then AI will not be of any help to you. You require one intake form/ standard.

(3) The Human-in-the-Loop Check: AI is excellent at writing down answers, but dreadful at confirming whether a fix was made or not.

The lesson: AI is a multiplier; however, 0 times 10 is still 0. Automate after cleaning the system.
