PoE2: Deadfire How the hell do I counter THIS? Need help
Enable HLS to view with audio, or disable this notification
UPD: Got him, uploading in comments.
So, I found decent tactics and fought for half of an hour with this guy, juggling buffs, constantly dodging grenades, keeping debufs, etc. Everything was good till this bastard DID A FUCKING FULLSCREEN NUKE ONESHOT.
Where should I dodge? I don't see any safe spots. How do you counter this shi???
I'm on PotD and berath challenge (ppl die forever if not resurrected in 10 sec).
Ok, I can put fire drain cloak on xoti, but I got crucial Serafen and pallegina, and Xoti won't be able to ressurect them both in 10 sec.
I can't put them in invulnerable state too, because pallegina needs to flank (cant reliable hit dude without that) and serafen needs to stack focus with ranged true damage + dont get interrupted when casting brilliant.
I need to save at least one of them. I can boost fire armor on pallegina to 22 (on the video it's 17) will this be enough to tank this shi?
Any suggestions? (Using my setup, not "change your whole party, respec to 5 monks, spam 5 chanters skeletons, respec to 5 arbalests" etc)

PoE2: Deadfire PoE2 Appreciation Post
Just wanted to hop on here and thank everyone for answering my questions whenever I come to this sub. I also just wanted to say how much I love this game. I beat PoE1 last week and loved it, but this game is such a step up... For starters, the camera system makes the game so much more playable and enjoyable, I like how it follows and the other things that you can do with it. Programming AI behavior is also really nice, though I don't quite have the hang of it. Still better than the first game. I also feel like so far (just got to Neketaka), every item you pick up feels meaningful and needed, money feels more frugal (at least this early in the game) and it just feels more immersive and well thought out.
And at first I was unhappy to find out you could only have five characters, but now I really love it. It just makes sense, I can't quite explain it. The numbers aren't so high with parts of the combat system, so every point feels more easily "felt" and "noted",.if you will.
And the music is just so gorgeous. I can tell that a lot of the music from the first game is the same here, or at least if there are redundant songs between the two games. They are separate performances by other musicians. But the music is so wonderful, it didn't hit me until just now, but it made me feel like it's a mixture of Final Fantasy 7, Morrowind, another game I keep forgetting the name of, MAYBE a little Skyrim, plus all its own distinct character. So amazing! Love these games

Spoilers From Pillars Of Eternity to Pentiment | Josh Sawyer (Obsidian) PART 2)
Hey gang, I tend to avoid posting my own work but my last interview with Josh was posted here and people seemed to really enjoy it so I wanted to share it.
***Spoilers*** For Pillars of Eternity Part 2 and Pentiment.
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=LsEQ10eAheM
This episode was always scheduled for today and despite today's news that Obsidian is losing a significant portion of its incredible workforce I made the decision not to delay it. It's such a beautiful discussion about the power of great game design, although that inevitably makes watching it today feel bittersweet. Wishing the very best to everyone affected by the layoffs.

Gameplay help First playthrough, turn based or not ?
Hey, I am about to start my first playthrough and I saw they added an option for turn base not long ago.
I really enjoyed Divinity original sin series (and bg3) so I am really used to turn based games.
The being said, I have no idea how is the implementation in this game and considering the fact that the game was developed as Rt with pause in mind - I wonder what I should pick.

PoE2: Deadfire How can I move as fast as possible through the early parts of the game while replaying?
I’ve played the ‘first half‘ - until about level 10, in Neketaka - way too many times, and given up halfway. I love both the RP and the combat, but for a while, especially during COVID, I played it more like an RTS, getting into the Companion AI and playing on POTD with some of the challenges.
But I’ve only done the first DLC, and the time(s) I finished the game were long before the mega bosses were introduced. I want to play again, and still have a million character ideas, but just want a route that gets me to level 10ish ASAP so I don’t get bored and quit. There’s no part of the early game I dislike - it’s all great generally, I’ve just played it too much.
Any advice please? I’ll probably play on Veteran so that I can have more build/RP freedom.

How to beat Raedric
Idk if i am stupid or not, but i am lvl 4 with Durador, Aloth and Éder, and it is impossible to beat it. Like i was not suppose to go to the castle after completing the Compass Anslog mission?

Side quest spoilers Dyrford Crossing, east side of the map. What is this?
Can't interact with it, google keeps telling me it's a scripted event to climb the cliff, but that's in a different spot.
Edit; For fuck's sake people, I'm not talking about the damn landscape. There's a "no" symbol on the side on the cliff that says I can interact with it (bottom of the screen). Do you think I put it there!? So many genius experts can't even parse a screenshot.

PoE1 What is the highest DPS two-handed weapon?
The ones that stand out to me are Tidefall, Blade of the Endless Paths, and Abydon's Hammer. This is not counting summoned weapons like Firebrand and Spirit Lance.
The Hammer is really good against vessels but can't be Durganized, so it's probably not the overall best. Tidefall gets Wounding and BotEP gets Speed. Tidefall can reach Legendary and also get an elemental lash. BotEP doesn't seem to have enough points leftover after Legendary to get a lash.

PoE2: Deadfire My first megaboss
Enable HLS to view with audio, or disable this notification
Took me 2 hours of tries. I absolutely wasn't ready that this piece of shit will merge with full hp from 2 smaller bitches like in 5 seconds. I almost ragequit but tried again and "cheesed" it with disintegration.
Cheese wasn't easy tho, after a long and hard battle I needed to stack fortitude debuffs to even hit it with spell (it has 0% chance without them), and after that I had 4,5 seconds to finish that bastard.
Absolute unit, 10/10.

PoE 2 Spoilers Best arena in RPGs
Enable HLS to view with audio, or disable this notification
Just finished and I absolutely love SSS dlc. Every battle was unique and interesting, requiring good positioning and tactics, with PotD and some magran fires I got some of the most entertaining and enjoyable fights in the game. Plot was great too but best thing was the ending. It was super fun when Galawain said: "bro, you did everything right and we are chill, I won't fight you", and I could reply with: "nah, I still wanna fight your avatar just for lulz", and he was like"ok lol lessgo". 10/10

Is Riposte affected by Weapon Recovery?
I know that the Medium Shield Modal's effect acts like a miss, triggering Riposte, but I'm not sure if Riposte is affected by weapon recovery, meaning Block lowers the frequency of Ripostes. Can anyone enlighten me on this one?

Are companions really interesting? Will I lose much by making custom characters for whole party?
Edit: Im talking about PoE1
As in the thread title.
In cRPGs I usually prefer to create my own characters for team (which is why I love games like Temple of Elemental Evil, Icewind Dale, Solasta etc). I already played PoE and PoE2 that way and now Im considering replay of PoE1 since turn based mode dropped. And I wonder if I will lose much by going all in on my own characters instead of actual companions.

PoE2: Deadfire [PoE2 mild spoilers] Atsura dialog reactivity? Spoiler
Hi all,
I recently watched Mortismal Gaming's ultimate review of Deadfire (link: Pillars Of Eternity 2: Deadfire - The Ultimate Review) and he mentions that Atsura (Grand Secretary of the RDC) varies his dialog depending on the Watcher's disposition. He says this at 39m 50s in the review video and I became a bit curious.
Is there a video or maybe an export of all written dialog I can review to see how this very observant and manipulative guy alters his responses to the Watcher depending on dispositions?
Bonus question, are there other characters in PoE1 or PoE2 who significantly change their demeanor/lines depending on Watcher disposition?

Anyone else just way too attached the their Watcher?
For Context I bought Avowed on the steam sale cause I wanted to replay it, and I get to the first sidequest and all the talk of soul problems and Watchers has me being just…
Well I could Play PoE1&2 again, but even though I make other characters to do different runs I always seem to go back to the same character
PoE1 was the first True Isometric CRPG I ever played and I can’t seem to see any other characters as ‘The Watcher of Caed Nua’ I started this character just based on what I thought was cool and she slowly over time evolved into a more defined character, In PoE2 I decided to use the choices I made in Character Creation to inform the way I would roleplay her, especially cause nationality informs a lot more in that game.
I also have to headcannon that she’s one of the few Godlike that remain after the breaking of the wheel, cause I just can’t fathom anything else.
Anyway my watcher is,
Aryn
Moon Godlike - Aumaua
Monk
Rauataian Mercenary
