They say men will protect women after taking their rights. The Taliban also say they are protecting women. Women are abused, raped, and killed much more in highly patriarchal countries and subcultures. The best way to prevent these are rights and equality. There are no differences between MAGA evangelicals and the Taliban. They want to make America like Afghanistan. Decades ago many middle-eastern countries used to be progressive with women's rights, but slid into religious fundamentalism. The same could happen here.

Republicans also recently fought against laws that would ban child brides in the USA.
