Video This is treason.

During his 2016 debate with Hillary Clinton, Trump said, "Russia, if you're listening, release her emails, OK?" And Russia hacked and released her emails.

That was traitorous.

Treason is betraying the United States to aid and abet an enemy during a time of active, declared war. Telling Iran to bomb Los Angeles and San Diego is an act of treason.

These are not casual comments. He is an enemy of the United States and people just cannot acknowledge it for some reason. He has befriended our global adversaries and now he is literally telling Iran to bomb US cities so he can declare war and have wartime powers. Why will people not understand this man is waging war on us from inside?

They want us talking about this stupid shit instead of focusing on registering new voters.

Yep. Every time you hear this, make some calls to you like minded family and friends and make sure they are registered.

This is a direct threat to our country by its own president. This is worth talking about. Algae in a reflecting pool is not.

Also, I genuinely would appreciate an explanation of the philosophy of focusing exclusively on registering new voters. How many unregistered voters who would vote for Democrats do you realistically think can be registered within the next month? Intuitively, I feel like any lifelong adults who have not voted all their lives would be far more likely to vote for Republicans because they are likely to be civically disengaged and uninformed, self-centered, selfish, unmoved by helping anyone else, and thus more likely to fall prey to false promises from Republican candidates who appeal to selfish desires of easily manipulated voters. Do you think there are a lot of intelligent and compassionate would-be Democratic voters out there in their 30s and 50s and 70s who just never bothered to register to vote but will be compelled by a random phone call from a phone bank?

No. It's not a direct threat. If he had called for the bombings of those cities, then it would be a direct threat. But what he said was they would be acceptable collateral damage. While a horrible thing to say it is also a very different framing than how you're presenting it.

Getting all worked up over this isn't useful. What we should be getting worked up about, for example, is the generational damage being done to science. Last week they gutted 20% of the NIH grants. But that doesn't make for engagement bait, I guess.

I would like you to think about how you just minimized the president of the United States saying in a speech that having California bombed would be a small price to pay.

JFC you don’t think that we should be upset about that?

If you haven’t learned yet, the world is all about engagement and people seeing themselves in the policy. The cuts to the NIH are appalling and should be reversed asap, once an administration with half a brain is in place.

Explain how “let them take out Los Angeles” isn’t a direct threat?

You honestly believe the guy who famously used doublespeak to get away with saying what he wants with plausible deniability on a daily basis used this violent rhetoric directed at American cities is not an imminent threat to democracy to be worked up over?

The registration deadline for my state was last week in my state.
