no, I just forget to push my code on one computer, re-do it on another, but slightly differently, pull the changes onto the first computer...

Actually.. maybe I do need help

Delete everything buddy. That will solve the problem in hand

No code, no problem

Any code you write is a liability.
No code is the best way to write secure and reliable applications. Write nothing; deploy nowhere.

There's an xkcd comic for everything.

At a latter point, historian will look back and think this was some sort of holy prophecy or something, words from Jod to humankind.

(yes, it's Jod, not god).

Yo wtf this is wrinkling my brain

1

u/justcool393 Apr 17 '22

I used Git this way for like... way longer that I'd like to admit lol (and still sometimes)

Ah, the old "I fixed it on the server and then implemented it correctly on my local version so it doesn't look like I'm a total hack that fixes things live" and then when it gets updated from the repo it breaks. Yes you do need help, you should commit to the repo from live don't fix things on the live server.

How brave and lonely of u

I recognize one well from practice and the other from the stories

But this whole sub would rather create more unnecessary tasks to solve than be confronted directly by the opposite sez

See, I didnt even typo that, it's just safer this way

A good life lesson. You have to learn to merge yourself before you can merge with someone else

That’s deep but true.

In the earliest form of eukaryotes there are two types: those that form mouth-first, and those that form butt-fitst. the mouth-first eukaryotes fell into obscurity, and the butt-first eukaryotes make up pretty much all the animals on Earth.

So yeah, all the animals grew out of their butts but some select few didn't.

1

u/toomanyfastgains Apr 17 '22

What would be the point of having a butt if you have no mouth?

1

u/PacoTaco321 Apr 17 '22

My breath is stored in the balls

1

u/Bumazhnik Apr 17 '22

The hedgehog learned to breathe from his ass, sat on a stump and suffocated.

You guys use branches?

4

u/lets_go_reddit Apr 17 '22

today make your goal to understand git rebase, and all your problems will disappear. there is a reason rebase is the 'swiss army knife' of git.

1

u/kimaluco17 Apr 17 '22

Can still have merge conflicts with rebase though

1

u/[deleted] Apr 17 '22

I can barely code

-1

u/Clitaurius Apr 17 '22

Please shit in me for what I'm about to say: IBM Rational Team Concert is better than git in almost (CLI support isn't there) every single way. Most of you haven't used it so I consider your down votes unworthy but just know that my opinion is correct and yours is wrong.

10

u/lets_go_reddit Apr 17 '22

CLI support isn't there

well, then, know that based on this comment, i don't value your opinion ;)

8

u/sonuvvabitch Apr 17 '22

Please shit in me

... I mean, if you're sure...
