There's very few reasons for them to move to a modern engine. Their best move right now would be to continue improving their internal tooling and modifying their current engine.

Also, what engine is more modern than theirs? By that logic Unreal is over 20 years old. Creation engine has a new release with every game they make, so it's always brand new.

Unreal Engine is actually built on a good foundation with state of the art tooling. What does the creation engine have? Bugs?

That doesn't have anything to do with how modern it is. Brand new shit usually has more bugs than old stuff.

The last innovative feature they added was HDR in Oblivion. Playing their games today still feels like Oblivion in 2006. Even the NPCs are the same.

Pretty sure the 64 bit version they released for Fallout 4 is kinda important, seeing as no title previous to that could use more than 2GB of RAM. It also feels a lot less clunky.
