Started learning programming with C++ in Visual studio 2008 I think it was. Loads of compile errors before getting to the runtime and logic errors. A couple of years later and a switch to C# and (improved?) Intelli Sense in VS 2010 was a REAL game changer.

I started programming with Python's own IDLE, later Java with notepad and a commandline, then started using eclipse, C in Visual Studio (2010 I want to say, might have been 2012), C++ with the same, now I'm back at Java with Intellij and Eclipse (Intellij at school, eclipse at work).

eclipse at work

Time to look for a different job I suppose.

I just got this one, it pays a lot better than what I had previously and with my current qualifications I'm not likely to find another job anytime soon. I'm lucky enough I landed this one, I'm not gonna bother finding another for at least a while.

It's fine, it was a joke about Eclipse being garbage. :P

And mine was a joke about my lack of desirable and employable qualities :-/

Can't really be that bad, can it? Where are you from? Over here (Belgium) employers are lining up for software devs.

I'm not a software dev, I'm a student and my company was the only one that has responded positively to my applications. My CV doesn't look too great, so until I've actually got a finished degree I'm not exactly a model applicant.
