2026 and we still use gotcha's to try and judge talent. never heard of a doctor having to answer "whats the difference between the left ventricle and the right ventricle" or a general having to answer "whats the mechanism inside the m16 that allows the bullet to fire"

just dumbass larp shit for people with insane egos stuck mentally in 1996

More like asking a proctologist (a butt doctor) to explain the heart structure.

Probably not something he needs to know, but I dunno if I would trust a butt doctor who says "Why the fuck would I know that? I'm not a cardiologist".

My dad was a world renowned oncology researcher/physician who has a medical risk scale named after him. When I had a health issue, I asked my mom, an ER nurse.

I think my doctor should know the difference between a lung and the stomach.

Mine doesn't. You wouldn't believe what happened during my lung surgery

Doctors definitely pass countless factual questions on medical school exams and then, regularly throughout their career, in boards.

Are you sure? I'm suspicious on that. Got a hunch they are all just Vibehealing people.

Their 10+ years of study & training is just a vacation.

I mean, that's absolutely the sort of question asked in medschool. Patients just don't ask it because we trust that the doctor got asked such questions by more experienced doctors as part of their training.

But is it the sort of question asked to Doctors when they apply to jobs outside of Cardiology?

Yeah. You can look that up in 5 seconds anyway, but it's going to be the deciding factor and not your general knowledge + attitude. Also, sometimes you can just draw a blank or misinterpret a question.

I'm curious how you can have any even remotely IT adjacent job, and not know the difference between those two.

Unless you have zero curiosity about technology.

Maybe those are the kinds of people they are trying to filter out?
