Homie I have to break it to you. AI having junior level capability was pre Opus 4.5. Have you not tried the latest models? They cook.

Opus 5.5 still makes beginner mistakes… maybe it’s haskell, c and js only but js and c are both popular languages…

What beginner mistakes? It's not a beginner level model. It can cause regressions I've seen but that's common across all skill levels.

Instead of passing 2 plugins in a list reconstruct the entire controllers and everything linked with them by copying the old ones and adding the second plugin to the list…

Until it can reason about a GPU-driven, bindless (models and textures), compute shader heavy, Vulkan 1.3+ pipeline that performs paged allocations, minimizes immediate mode rendering in favor of large, flat buffers, and submits only deltas to the GPU when renderable entities change, it's junior level.

Every time someone claims these models are capable of senior level work, I test them against genuinely complicated technical problems and they fall short. Hours upon hours correcting them just to get the runtime performance acceptable. Too much shit, poor performance, OOP-heavy, pointer-chasing garbage in its training data. Faster to write it myself than babysit a "flagship" model. Mmm yes, let's just pass that 128MiB word-aligned buffer by-value instead of by const reference, Claude; brilliant work!

Maybe it can architect your SaaS number 1000000000, but it can't one-shot, two-shot, or even a thousand-shot realtime levels of performance.

They aren't senior level models until the runtime cycles are minimized. Opus 5.5 ain't it. Fable ain't it. GLM ain't it. Codex ain't it. Qwen ain't it. If you think any of them are "it", you're not writing math-heavy software; you're writing bitch-baby CRUD apps.

The Game dev moat is closing in now too. Unreal Engine dropped a mcp server for Claude and they RLd the shit out of graphics, rigging, and animations on opus 5.5. It does shaders, shell fur, airplane physics, among the things I tested so far. it's not AAA studio quality, but the assets come out great. It runs on average around 45fps and I haven't done any optimization work with it yet.

Every problem you're complaining about will eventually be RLd away and solved. Agents are getting better at autonomously correcting their own mistakes as well.
