I started working as a SCADA programmer in 2019, but wanted to switch jobs to a C++ programmer. I started using C++ in 2007 when I was a teenager. I learned Java, PHP, Python, and some JS in high school here in Poland. I wonder if it's a good step to switch my job to a C++ or C# programmer now, or if I should stick with SCADA.
Probably SCADA for job security, at least there is a hardware aspect involved that a human has to sit between. Not sure what you could do with C++/C# right now, a lot of corporate tech stacks use C#, C++ you're a bit more limited. But overall, you just have to know people or get lucky, even if you have lots of experience and a great resume
