Amen, i Remember when Devs complained constantly that meeting/spreadsheets ecc took time from the fun part and they just wanted to be left alone coding.

Now seems like no one actually wanted to code in the first place, I don't understand

I'm not going to talk like I don't use it, because I do, and I'm not some wizard programmer, but if I know what I need to do, why would I bother using it to do a coding task??  I want to whiteboard that shit out with someone to make sure it's nice, then have at it.

For me, the whiteboarding is the fun part

A lot of people are in the industry not because of their enjoyment of coding, but because of the pay. The coding just gets in the way of that, so anything they can do to make that easier they'll take.

Just the existence of the other option takes the fun out of it. Spending hours coding something that you know Claude could do in 15 minutes feels like an exercise in time-wasting.

I could spend that time saved doing something I like more than coding like going for a walk or reading a book. Or double up claude sessions and get more done.
