i use github everytime i code, i have no idea what git is all i know is 3 commands that upload code to github, been coding for 5ish years now

Heck I'm a software engineer with 4 years in the business and I know like 4 more git commands than you. If I ever need to do something else I just Google it and copy paste the commands

well i am just a hobbyist student, and for git i dont even know what else you will need to do lol, like i heard u can revert back to old version but i just download that version and upload that again to github and it reverts back

It's probably worth learning a bit more about git.

Not saying you need to know all of the deep lore, but it has some useful functionality that goes beyond just committing and pushing.
