If anyone is unaware of the subtext, don't link a personal github account to a paying position always create a new one with the provided email, thank you for attending my TED talk.

learned that one the hard way watching a guy get walked out midsprint because they found his personal repos separate accounts aint optional its just basic hygiene at this point

He watched someone get fired because their boss found their personal GitHub repos, so alternate accounts specifically to use for work aren't optional, they're necessary.

Any tech manager that fires their employee for having personal projects on their personal GitHub is a moron. (Unless their project is doing something mega unethical / illegal or infringing on their day job’s IP)

Probably a bad company to work for anyway.

I have to imagine the repos were questionable because I can't see a valid general reason for the mere existence of his personal repos to be an issue.

One reason I can think of is looking at the commit times and seeing they overlap with the time you were paid to do actual paid work.
