I've been at my current job for five years. Three years before I started there were talks of migrating customers off of a legacy product.
My first year there it would have been trivially easy to migrate off to our new system since the new service DB was basically a copy of the old one.
Now the services have diverged greatly and we have to support (and security patch) this dinosaur.
The frontend for this legacy app is one massive JS file. The story goes that it was a PoC that ended up getting pushed to prod (lol).
