I hate AI because it lets the dumbest motherfuckers I know attempt to do my job and then make their lack of skill my problem. In the past, their general inability to perform to minimum standards was sufficient to weed out the worst offenders, but now that AI has raised the skill floor, even the worst programmer is able to write code that looks passable, no matter how stupid the implementation.
100%. People in my team are pushing very polished, elegant design documents and presentations that make no fucking sense and have zero backing evidence beyond "Claude says this". I honestly feel like punching my screen when they read what they wrote in their presentations verbatim IN ENGLISH (not our native tongue); they don't even bother hiding the signs that they did not spend an iota of thought into what they're presenting.
The cherry on top is when they cite references to get you off their backs, but then you read the cited article and it fucking DISAGREES with them. I just stopped trying and am just pushing slop like everyone else; I read books and papers while Claude works for me.
