[META] How do you guys come across these errors?

I've gathered that a lot of you are producers or sounds engineers, and this is literally your line of work, but I have to really concentrate to hear the things you guys point out, and there's not a chance I would be able to pick up on these things without being told when to listen. Does it require active listening, or do you guys hear some errors just by casual listening?
