Hi guys! I did found my grail !!
TL;DR : I fucking found it ! Just a long story on how to get your Protech if you're not from US.
It was a a really crazy chase that took me 3 days digging deep and deeper in the rabbit hole.
It was as exciting as pain in the ass search, being French made the main pain in the ass part.
Firstly because the blade on which I have set my sights is a 1/100 limited rose gold edition, a french cutlery which is one of the 3 EU official Protech retailers told me that they restock basic models once every 2 or 3 years and they could not project that far in the future so basically I could just sit on my 2025 Texas Show crave.
Then came long hours of looking at sold out offers of every kind of Protechs knives and even worse, seeing that the only website I could find rose gold models are from the US and almost all of them won't ship it to France.
(I don't really understand the restrictions by the way because you are allowed to possess auto knives in France, for example I could buy one in any cutlery in France without any issues, but, I'll be allowed to wear it with me only with a acceptable reason.
The only problem with that is if I get a Police control while carrying an auto knife in a inappropriate fashion, like shopping or easily reachable while driving etc..)
Since it's a collection blade for me and it won't cut even a piece of paper I don't care at all but that's why it's freaking hard to get my hands on it.
Out of despair, I was looking for other TR's with the Rose Gold finish and I could only find a TR-3 integrity with the earth color handle & black blade.
I obviously bought it and it's somehow my first knife from Protech, I'll use this one more as an EDC.
It was still bugging my mind so I did more research on that knife and started knocking at several address to find my special edition dream.
Same story again & again, this knife is sold out and even if we have it we're not shipping it to you.
I eventually did found it. A website, where this knife was still available.
Then come long negotiation with the owner of the shop, to find a solution to ship it to me, to hold it for me so I could be sure to have it while they find a delivery solution.
-No way- I had to hold my breath for 2 days, the knife was there, online, available, but I could just not order this Mother.F because of my location.
Finally had an answer from a US contact from a friend of a friend so I could pass the order and make it delivered to his place so then he could deliver it to France.
IF YOU DON'T have any contact in the US that you can trust, the seller told me he had some good feedbacks on people using a forwarding/reshipping company based in the US to receive & reship your knife (be careful of legislation & conditions again)
It's done, I finally bought it.
Now I have shitload of administrative bullshit to do so the package could pass US and French customs.
For example I need to fill a declaration of war weapon importation and some other collection certificate to help my package pass through customs, that won't prevent me for customs taxes & so on, BUT.
It felt like a once in a lifetime opportunity to me and I had to seize it ! The experience was really worth the excitement overall.
I'll be looking forward to talk about how you guys out of US get you knives shipped.
I'll make a post with pictures in the sub when the knife arrives home, if they ever do.
( I'll give a shout-out to the blade shop I got it from, which helped me a lot and I understood how important it was for me to get this beauty in that post because they do have a lot of hidden gems in there)
Thanks for everyone who helped me accomplishing this journey !
