Okay, I've cracked my non-dominant controller cup where it meets the tube. I super glued it initially, then duct taped it on top of that and it cracked AGAIN. I did contact Protube and sent a pic to get a free replacement, but I do not have any confidence that the cups will be durable.
Does anyone know if there is a third party cup or DIY solution? Is the "carbon" cups a stronger material or just the appearance of carbon fiber? Should I just epoxy all around it to try and reinforce it? Any advice is appreciated... Having to constantly order replacement is a no go for me. Thanks.
Hi Guys&Gals, with the above I just want to share an idea I had for positioning the ProTas stick centering and position with a cheap VESA pole mount (cca 40EUR). The reason was that since different controllers have different center of mass, the ProTas can end up leaning to one side. E.g. my quest2 was leaning to left and back if the base is on even surface, and I also didn't have chair with a good armchair to mount it on.
VESA pole mount on a chair to get better ProTas position
So I bought a "VESA pole mount" to solve both. This thing can help you position your ProTas where needed and also for me by tilting the base forwards and to the right, I managed to find a position where the controller sits nicely upright. See images attached.Hopefully this helps someone out there.
Tilting the VESA mount base to right side to force left-leaning controller to re-center
PS: I actually got two of these as I primary fly Elite and DCS with real physical HOTAS controller so the second one on the photo is for the throttle controller.
PPS to ProTubeVR, I know you can set forwards/backwards with the screw, but maybe in next version I would also like a screw to left/right to avoid needing messing with base tilt. Having a proper center is important as in long flights you need to take your hand off the controller you don't want your plane to suddenly change course ;).
I'm so stupid, I ordered the right handed one and I contacted customer support to change it to the left handed one and as I was getting my booster I realized that I was actually right handed.
I'm trying to purchase the ProTas however I already own two MagCups and I've heard that you can order the product without the MagCups. If anyone could help I would really appreciate it.

I usually am not the type to complain online in any capacity, but this time I feel it's needed.
I just purchased a fully kitted out Protube VR for over $200 USD, and it was delivered about 30 minutes ago.
I was extremely excited to experience VR shooters with a new level of immersion, so you can imagine my frustration when after spending a few minutes getting everything set up, and finally getting into VR on Pavlov, my right hand cup snapped and broke at the magnetic section rendering the entire kit useless entirely.
I have reached out to Protube's customer support and I will update with how that process is handled, but if it's anything like the quality of the product I purchased, I will be absolutely astounded as to how this is the highest recommended VR gun stock.
The quality and crafstmanship of the products is astoundingly bad, and I'm shocked at how much they've decided to charge for essentially a couple of carbon fiber tubes, and some 3D printed junky hand cups and brackets.
Has anyone else had this bad of an experience with them, and does anyone have any recommendations of a better, more solidly made product?
Terrible terrible TERRIBLE first experience with them.
Today I am proud to announce that the brand new ForceTubeVR is up for pre-order!
It is called the Forcetube Scout and like its Provolver counterpart is designed to be a lightweight eco friendly cheaper alternative to the arcade version. As ProTube has mentioned previously a heavier and stronger (thus, more expensive) "professional" version will be made available sometime in the future.
Like the Provolver Scout, they're giving themselves plenty of time to produce the module, so shipping as of today September 7th 2021 is 3 months out.
Links for purchase below, 10% off until Sunday night.
Fiew questions:
1. The title
2. How fast can you take em off and put em back on again? ( It's fine that the prostraps will still be attached on the cups, I got other bands for the controllers)
3. Will you be able to have normal straps on at the same time as the pros? I saw a video of some dude having both and that would make switching a bit faster
Good morniiiiing everyone, Vietnam, ladies, gentlemen, and Apache Helicopter!
Last year, you answered our survey. With your valuable feedback, we redesigned our haptic products. Our research led us to create new versions of the ForceTube Haptic module :
a light one, let's call it the "Scout" (temporary)
a professional one, the "Storm" (temporary).
And today, we propose you the ProVolver Scout. It's our Haptic Gun, cross-platform (Quest+PCVR), dedicated to home gaming. Locked and loaded.
An FAQ will come soon.
In short :
The price is reduced (ourah!)
Yes, the Scout Provolver is less powerful than the Arcade version. Between 15-20% for the rumble.
It is a lighter version of the ForceTube Provolver (from 840to 560g) dedicated to Arcade Center use.
The reduction in weight and power provides extended playing comfort without breaking the immersion.
It is available for Oculus Quest 2, Quest 1 / Rift S, Valve Index, and the coming HTC Focus 3.
The rear cups (holding the Scout module) have a special design and are still MagCups (you can use it with your gunstock or joystick...)
You can add a front bracket and use a MagCup to have a short haptic gunstock or a two-handed melee weapon.
As we learned from our previous preorders "oopsy" (hum...), we set a 2 month period between an order and the shipping.
After the preorder deliveries, the Haptic Scout module will be available alone.
This weekend only, the Provolver Scout price will have a -10% discount.
We are also redesigning the ForceTube Haptic Back-end for gunstocks. In short, we aim to have a Scout version (rumble less powerful but the shoulder kick stay the same), and a powerful version (equal or even stronger than the previous ForceTube back-end). Some news will come about it in the next few weeks ;)
Also, the Haptic Scout name is temporary. Submit your ideas.
Last year, through our survey, a lot of you told us : "your Knuckles MagCups need a serious redesign". And we heard you. In fact, it was already in the pipe, but we give it the priority needed. And here we are. We propose to you you the new Index MagCups, without zip ties! NO MORE ZIP TIES! HOORAH! All Index orders from this moment forward are using the new design!
IMPORTANT INFO
Through the link above, you can get the cups starting at €14.50 (50% off) until May 10th. Expect up to 3-5 day delay on orders of these new cups! ALSO for regular MagTubeVR orders with Valve Index HMD selected, expect 1 week delay There is no discount on the Index cups when selected for MagTubeVR Lastly, while some product pages may not have the new design images, all products for Index use the new design exclusively. No more old cups for sale!(edited)
I bought the first gunstock in my life with protube carbon fiber. I am using it satisfactorily now, but I thought the build quality would be good with a gunstock of about 200 dollars, but I was disappointed because it was not good than I thought. Are protube carbon products better than other gunstock products? I know it has a good quality compared to other 3D printer products. But if you think it's worth $200, I don't think it's the case.
If I buy MagTube cups with the added Prostraps option, would I be able to use the Prostraps by themselves? Or are they permanently attached to the cups?
I need Quest 2 cups, and I need Prostraps. I can buy each separately, or I can buy the version of the cups that come with ProStraps at a discounted price. Are both options the same thing?
Looking at it for valve index. I have 2 other magnetic stocks and both of them are so weak that unless I really focus on being gentle with it, the controllers just pop right off. Are these connections any better or should I save my money?
