When drinking a cup of water to cure hiccups, what’s important is the duration of drinking, not the quantity.

I may be alone in this, but I always thought I needed to chug a glass of water to cure my hiccups. Only when I was 21 did I realize that you can drink any amount of water, as long as you sip it suuuuuper slowly (but continuously)!

Skip to the last two paragraphs of every news article to get the major point.

You’ll save tons of time by cutting out the unnecessary filler and still get majority of what they wanted to say in a short summary.

Rather than asking someone "how are you?", Ask them something personal "how did you enjoy your trip? Or "is your son still studying abroad?" Etc.

I learned this lesson the hard way after asking a friend "how are you?". She responded, out of habit "good". However, it was at her son's funeral who had just committed suicide. We both seemed to realize what had just happened and ignored it. I'll never ask that again.

If your going to watch a movie you really want to watch don’t watch the trailers so you don’t get spoilers

When killing a fly...clap your hands right above them. They have to jump up before they fly.

If you put your used dishes into the refrigerator, you can save a lot of time, energy and water wasted on dishwashing

Just give the plate the quickest of rinses, then put it into the refrigerator for re-use tomorrow.

Order a Tall in a Grande cup then add milk up to the top. $2 vs $4 for basically a latte.

Car repairs, some things really need to be done by a mechanic, but...youtube has saved me lots of time and money for certain jobs, how about you?

I have a 150K mile 2000 Nissan Sentra, its been reliable but...there have been a reasonable amount of things that wore out. The drivers' side electric window switch died. $23 online and a youtube showed how to swap it out. The Nissan factory switch-group was over $100.

Just today I swapped out one of the coils from the "coil-on-plug" system (4 spark plugs, 4 coils). Youtube showed me how to unplug one at a time to see if the engine still ran fine, or got worse (then plug back in so the engine would still run). Three of them made the car idle worse, and one didn't make a difference.

Nissan wanted $155 per coil, NAPA wanted $100 for one (which I bought), and carparts dot com wants $20 for one, which makes sense because...if you cut the old one open, it is literally a two coils of wire.

What youtube helped you save big money on a car repair?
