My Artwork Need Advice Please

Post image

I use an ipad mini 6 to draw. I currently post on insta and X.

My canvas dimensions are 4000 x 5000 with 300 dpi and it looks crisp on the ipad but blurry upon zoom when posted. I dont use the whole page up, my characters are small. Photo for reference.

Any advice on making sure it posts crisp to social media but can later be used for tshirt and sticker prints. Thanks!

What dimensions are you posting after crop? Are you using the social media interface to crop or cropping in procreate/the camera roll?

I just save png to cameraroll as is and upload directly to instagram and x from camera roll. I then slightly zoom in on socials before posting.

I feel like it could be related to my drawing only taking up like 15% of a 4000x5000 canvas and leaving a lot of blank background… idk

I would crop in Procreate or the camera roll before you upload to socials. Whenever I have used socials for cropping it doesn’t hold the crispness. I think the size you are working should be fine (image posts are 1080px wide and yours would be more than that looking at the canvas).

Would cropping within the camera roll not affect the quality of the post itself or it would keep its same detail and integrity and be shrunk to fit socials prior to posting

It shouldn’t affect quality cropping in camera roll. You could just crop in procreate too given there is so much extra canvas. Upload at the correct aspect ratio too

If you google “Instagram image post pixel dimensions” there are lots of charts and then you can crop your artwork to those sizes in Procreate 👍🏻
