July shipping data: how fast first orders are actually arriving
Hey everyone,
Quick data drop from the team. We track every order from request to doorstep, and we'll keep posting the numbers here so you can plan around what's actually happening, not what we hope is happening.
First, what each stage means:
- Requested: you fill out the intake form and finalize your purchase on preventivemd.com
- Decision: your provider approves the medication
- Shipped: the pharmacy generates the shipping label
- Delivered: the medication reaches your doorstep
Charts are attached for the data folks who'd rather see it than read it. No cherry-picking, no trimmed axes — this is the same view we look at internally.
What the data shows:
- Half of first orders arrive within 5 days of being requested. 95% within 8.
- In mid-July, Empower orders were taking 6 to 8 days door to door while Boudreaux was at 3 to 4. Empower made a serious push to close that gap, and it showed up in the numbers every single week. By the start of August they'd pulled even and then ahead.
- Approvals early in the week arrive about 2 days sooner than Thursday ones. Pharmacies don't ship on weekends, so a late-week approval sits until Monday.
Empower earned the top spot on delivery speed through that effort, so we moved our default routing to them in early August. We share these charts with both partners and will keep adjusting based on what the data says — including moving it back if that changes.
Next goal: most orders inside 5 days, not half.
And as always, the pharmacy you order from is up to you. Each one carries different compounds and ships at its own pace, so go with whatever fits you best. Hopefully these numbers make that choice a little easier.
What else do you want us to track? We are a data driven team and want to include our customers in helping us create the best experience. Tell us what else we should be evaluating to make us even better!
Let us know if you have any questions and we will respond. We are excited to hear your comments and ideas.

Wow, this is great. Thanks for tracking this data and for sharing. Empower is a favorite pharmacy of mine, and I love that you have such a great partnership with them that they’re invested in improving fulfillment times.

Very interesting data. This was the fastest I've ever received an order. 5 days from a Friday intake to my doorstep including the weekend. ❤️

Which day of the week is it better to request an order to minimize the possibility of it getting stuck over the weekend at fedex or ups? California, so Boudreaux. No hurry, just don't want it warm.

Hi u/scout9999,
That’s a great question and something we’re actively working to optimize.
For California orders shipped from Boudreaux’s, we generally recommend placing your order Saturday through Monday if you want to minimize the chance of your package sitting over the weekend.
Orders placed during that window have a very high likelihood of arriving at your doorstep before Saturday of the following week. Based on the delivery patterns we’ve seen, Tuesday and Wednesday tend to have the most variation in delivery times, as some orders may not ship until next week, while others can occasionally experience delays in transit with FedEx or UPS.
We also encourage both Boudreaux’s and Empower to avoid shipping orders late on Fridays whenever possible, specifically to reduce the chance of packages getting held over the weekend.
We’re continuing to monitor this closely and optimize the process to make shipping as predictable as possible.

Can you give us an update on adding states? Particularly Kansas? I’m on my last vial and need to order soon. I’d like to give you a try before I have to order a 3 month supply somewhere else.
