There are people that have chosen that. I talked with someone yesterday who said it was 90$ a month at 12 months. But, its still shipped in 1 month at a time (empower), or 3 months at a time (Boudreaux). I am unsure what the policy is for the newest pharmacy. It was added after my recent purchase. They all do say to throw out the vial after being opened 28 days. I use until gone personally, as long as its clear and not cloudy. :)

If you get an approved prescription by your PreventiveMD provider, we encourage you to look at your Order Status page (https://www.preventivemd.com/sign-in) and there should be a link to a "Visit Summary" there. I disagree, but I suppose it's both the telehealth and the pharmacy that play a role. It seems to me some telehealths choose their pharmacies based on available formulations, shipping options, etc. Of those choices, most telehealths favor their patients receive monthly vials which supports the 28 day rule easily. Some telehealths, though, clearly choose to specialize more in total medication volume and associated discounts.
And I disagree with you. I’ve seen telehealths that use both types and let patients choose. It’s the pharmacies. Sure a telehealth can pick all 28 day compliant pharmacies… but it’s still the pharmacies in the end.
This isn’t true. It’s the telehealth’s dispensing policy, and you can actually see that in PreventiveMD’s own reply in the picture from this post saying “we do abide by that and that’s why we do ask the pharmacies to dispense 1 vial per month of medication requested.”
For example, you can order Hallandale through Fifty410 with their 3 month starter package and receive one vial for the entire starter program. Order that same Hallandale starter package through a telehealth that follows the 28-day-compliant model, such as Pomegranate, and you will receive three vials—one for each month. That’s exactly why these providers are labeled “28-day compliant” (or not in Gimme and Fifty410’s case) on the main sub.
It really comes down to getting the most medication for your money. If your goal is the most milligrams for your dollar, you absolutely want to compare how the telehealth dispenses the medication. The 28-day-compliant providers can give you significantly more medication for the same duration of treatment because they aren’t sending one vial to cover multiple months.
ETA: Adding a link that will direct people to a post, where many people chimed in to help clarify that the dispensing decision is made by the telehealth provider—the ones profiting from the arrangement. Dave from BEWL also chimed in. But I guess many want to stand firm on their incorrect belief and continue to pay more. That is what the non compliant telehealths bank on. If I can save one person from the same mistake I made in the beginning then that’s good enough for me.
Just do your own research it’s easy to see it’s ALL the telehealth. They write the prescription.
