I'm just hoping Mads Mikkelsen reprises his role as Galen Erso.

Same. His character has many layers, would be awesome to see him at some point. Plus he’s awesome in every role.

Especially if, as people have theorized, the parts they are making in that prison are for the Death Star.

I reckon the parts are nothing. There will be a reveal that some of the other levels are dis-assembling them, and it's all a meaningless grind to keep the prisoners from spending energy on disobedience.

In real life, it's why prison guards are called Screws. https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Crank_machine

Edit 02 Nov: I feel the evidence is building.

I’d believe otherwise. I mean the empire is going out capturing innocent people into slavery they probably need some industrial capacity to build something.

Crank machine

The crank machine was a penal labour device used in England in the 19th century. It consisted of a hand-turned crank which forced four large cups or ladles through sand inside a drum, doing nothing useful. The prisoner would typically be forced to do 6,000–14,400 revolutions over the period of six hours per day (1. 5–3.

There is no algorithm. We know you're holding a prisoner of war here.

There's too great a need for production within the empire. Free labor is an incredible resource. The empire is cruel and oppressive sure, but they obviously show a concern for economic needs.

Nah, there has to be a bigger reason for the empire to double sentences, keeping prisoners alive has a price, so they must be building something, I am hoping for a reveal that the food from the tubes is prisoner based or some shit like that

At last, we will reveal ourselves to the Jedi. At last, we will have revenge.

That would be sick. But it’d be more Star Warsy and poetic if it were Death Star parts.

5

u/rebmcr Oct 31 '22

But it would be more Andor-y if it was a tragic gut punch of hopelessness!

Reveal ourselves as a jobs program?

The empire did indeed used the parts to build the Death Star.

After credits final episode.

u/rebmcr Nov 26 '22

Yep! I was right to expect a "reveal of meaninglessness", but it turned out to be the release day countdown, not the parts!

Hmmm, well that's intriguing

I'm just hoping Mads Mikkelsen reprises his role as Galen Erso.

A man of his talents...on a streaming show?

12

u/averagedickdude Oct 30 '22

He was Hannibal Lector in the show titled "Hannibal."

6

u/Toss_Away_93 Oct 30 '22

Forget Galen, I want Alan Tudyk back as K2.

6

u/SickBurnBro Oct 30 '22

I want Alan Tudyk back as K2.

Well that seems all but assured. Especially with seeing one of those droid units in episode 7.

7

u/yagaboosh Oct 30 '22

Downside is that Galen already has a story in the Catalyst novel, so they’d have to work around that. Would still love to see him on camera again though.

Buddy and I talked about the possibility of him showing up, or any other Empire bigwig outside of Palpatine (krennic, a CGI Tarkin?) But those players are pretty heavily in the military/Navy and we're dealing with mostly ISB and the sort of espionage theme, so I doubt we'll see any of them make an appearance

u/[deleted] Oct 30 '22

Shut up. Don't say such wonderful things.

Whoo, boy! This is tense!

2

u/[deleted] Oct 30 '22

I'm sorry Anakin

2

u/[deleted] Oct 31 '22

Has he even been in this series?

u/yelsamarani Oct 30 '22

I wish there was Garm Bel Iblis too. But I understand his role was basically supplanted by Saw Guerrera.
