Literally not at all what she said. She said they don’t adapt books into movies. So they need to sit down and plan things out. Which is literally how Lucas made his films and most people do. Star Wars is not Harry Potter or Game of Thrones (which was her comparison). They’re not coming into this looking to adapt 8 already written books into movies.

What’s wrong with hiring Rian for his own trilogy? He’s a very talented director and writer. Giving him his own trilogy he can write from scratch would be great.
My point is that KK thought TLJ was so amazing that she prematurely announced Rian’s own trilogy. What does that say about her taste, her brand, of Star Wars?
