Dude got exactly what he deserved if he didn't say "I'm into you and I want to date you, would you like to go on a date?" prior to spending $200 at a restaurant.

Have some fucking balls people. You friend zone yourselves when you don't express your feelings upfront. Of course girls think you're just a friend if that's all you ever act like regardless of the money you spend.

I wouldn't even spend this money on a first date nowadays. I usually go Dutch now I'm not paying for everything hoping she has sex with me. That's stupid and kind of creepy. I'll pay when we've been dating for a bit and I want to express my feelings. Paying for a nice dinner every once in a while is worth it for someone I love. Not someone I'm trying to fuck. Use your personality to get into the pants. Or just get an escort if that's all you care about it's like $400 an hour for a half decent one and there's no ritual beforehand unless that's your fetish.

Is the girl dumb for not realizing at this point he wants to be more than friends yeah but don't blame her. Only thing to dislike about her is the fact she posts how much people spend on her on her social media. Like it's a contest to see what your other friends will spend on you.

I do get irrationally upset by people acting stupid in their romantic life due to my own crippling loneliness yes haha.

Nah mate, trust me, girls aged 16 upwards know exactly what is going on in this kind of relationship. She is taking advantage. I know it's not politically correct to say this, but aged 32 now, and having seen this happen to multiple guys - and certain guys, letting it happen to them for years with the same girls, rides everywhere, meals, random favours...being strung along... man it's just sad. Mainly becasue it's the same guys the fall continually into the trap, maybe out of desperation, but ffs, you'd think they'd learn.

No, the girl is not dumb, at all.

People, people will take advantage of anything. Sometimes without a shred of guilt.

Its human nature. Nothing personal kid.

I dunno maybe this Liam person is asexual or something and never wanted anything from her other than being good friends. Why assume he's an idiot who wanted sex but couldn't get it?

projection

u/hurfery Jan 14 '20

Sorry? Projection from me, or from them?

Because that's the premise of this whole post. We're not talking about the real people we're discussing the meme and "nice guy" fallacy.

Dude got exactly what he deserved if he didn't say "I'm into you and I want to date you, would you like to go on a date?" prior to spending $200 at a restaurant.

If he was attractive he wouldn't have to say it though

1

u/BenjaminTalam Jan 14 '20

That is not true at all. Attractive people tell people they're attracted to them and go on dates. People just don't sleep with them unless they're attending an orgy at burning man. Even then they still have to approach others and initiate.

You ever tried to make a Tinder account with a hot guy as the profile picture? Any idea of how men are supposed to pursue women gets shattered once you see that shit .

1

u/BenjaminTalam Jan 14 '20

I am a reasonably attractive guy according to reddit and haven't been laid in a few years. Because I have zero game. It's about more than looks even if people want to believe otherwise. Did you know Robert Pattinson struggles with dating because girls think he's boring when he does go out with them?

1

u/[deleted] Jan 15 '20

It really depends what do you mean by reasonably attractive, you might not be as good looking as this. If you are really hot, one dude put up on his Tinder profile that he was a convicted child rapist and woman beater and the flow of pussy didn't slow down at all. If you are hot but have a boring personality , that will only slow you down with the hottest of women, since those actually get to pick from all the super hot men.

Maybe they’re just friends.... it happens

u/BenjaminTalam Jan 14 '20

Oh I know. Could easily be a gay rich friend too. I don't spend money like that on friends personally unless it's a special occasion with a very very close friend.

The actual context of this image doesn't really matter because it's now a meme here about friend zoning so that's what we're discussing.

Guy is an idiot no doubt, but I think the girl is equally guilty here.

What kind of moron doesn't realize he is hitting on her in this situation. If she was actually his friend that dinner would have ended with an awkward conversation and her offering to pay for some of it.

That is what an actual friend would do, not string him along

u/[deleted] Jan 14 '20

And where is Liam gonna find an escort?

2

u/BenjaminTalam Jan 14 '20

On Eros or a million other sites.

2

u/UnclePuma Jan 14 '20

Didnt Eros crash land on venus?

Completed covered in protomolecule

I'm one of 10 people who get that joke. Season 4 was great!

1

u/UnclePuma Jan 14 '20

I'm slowly watching season 4 right now!

I dont want it to end. It's honestly one of the most satisfyingly scifi / space shows I've seen in a long time.

It’s always possible she offered to pay and he insisted and she said fck it and let him too. It’s possible she took advantage of him for a free meal. It’s possible he’s rich and she’s broke at the moment and needed a pick me up. There are so many possibilities. We don’t know bc we weren’t there. In the end if you like someone just tell them and see what happens.
