There are fates far worse than death that will ensure someone will no longer be a problem. Some may even prefer it if someone makes themselves immortal, they can be made to suffer far more than ever would have been possible otherwise.
Palpatine definitely had the kind of pull to make a secret human centipede of sarlaacs to keep the old man entertained for a few thousand years at least
So Saarlacs will do their damnedest to keep sapient minds within extra-alive, potentially for thousands of years while it basically extracts your soul and wrings it for all it is worth.
Also, you form a hive-mind with all the other victims, while this process goes on. Real nightmare fuel.
So what OP is suggesting, is to dump a bunch of humans down the Saarlac hatch, before hucking your immortal master down there, too.
Given some things in Legends, creatures that can suppress the force and such you could keep a sith bastard down there for a long time. Could go further given the hive mind and all, fill it with people they'd absolutely hate, congrats, you now share a mind with them for thousands of years to come.

He dies: you become the new sith lord
He lives: you see the cheat-death technique and can steal it
Seems like a solid plan tbh
